Thankfully, we'd only booked one night in this hotel. The reception area was old and jaded, although the receptionist was friendly and polite. Directed to the lift, we found an old service elevator, complete with hashed rails inside - and it jolted to life like something out of a Hammer Horror movie! The layout of the hotel is something to...

I have just tried to book this hotel and staff were very rude!!!! I refused to give my card details until they would confirm they had booked the requested rooms for the 4 weeks stay and I was told that until I handed over card details they could only book 1 week not what you expect when your about to...

Pros: great location, room was clean. Cons: 1. I was lost on the high street very close to the hotel and rang and rang and rang for directions. No answer (7pm). As I hung up the last time, I realised I was right in front of it. Walked in and there was a woman on reception clearly not bothered about...

Ok - my fault - I booked this at 10pm this Monday, meant to book for the following Monday. I immediately rang the booking company who told me the hotel would call me back the next morning. They didn't, I called them to be told that since they hadn't sold the room (between 10PM and midnight!!!???) they would not refund...

We booked a night in this hotel purely because the hotel our friends were staying in was fully booked and we were only looking for the one nights stay before boarding a ship. Although as other people have mentioned the hotel is showing her age, the friendliness of all the staff and the fantastic Breakfast more than made up for...

Small, pokey, a bit dingy and ancient (especially the lift) don't try it with more than one suitcase. Floors creek and the rooms are just about passable. Breakfast was okay and there's a nice, well priced bar attached.

Stayed 1 night, while attending the 8o's day on Southampton common, & like all city centre hotels, they are all full @ the weekend , friendly staff, very good breakfast , but the whole place needs a refurb, it was obvious realy , as this was the only place that had rooms left. Only the bare minimum has been spent...

Stayed here before, basic, but what u expect for the price. Tried to book a room this week via telephone, too much rush to use internet that day, told only room double £70.. turned it down as no room there is worth £70. Managed to get on line, room available for £50... so booked. Politely suggested to receptionist that they...

Stayed here whilst building work was being done. Iv been educated on various new swear words and vulgar language from hearing them in the ungodly early hours of the morning after a late night! Hotel needs a desperate revamp on the interior as well! Desperately uncomfortable bed! The little bar was great saving grace! Excellent location for a positive point,...
