We are currently staying at bell tent Glamping, our second visit this year…. As always it’s a pleasure to stay here it’s fast becoming our favourite trip…. Kids love it…great set up. A nice communal feel to the place and very easy going. Loads to do for kids (and the dog) within the grounds… Always a pleasure to see Jim and John… Keep up the good work guys.

Our family has been coming here for 3 years now and it's been amazing every year. Bell tents are roomy and cosy with lights, plugs with USB slots, really comfy raised beds, carpets and a heater that is pretty good at taking the chill off the evenings. There is also a bbq/firepit, we all had great fun collecting wood for this. . There are male and female toilet/shower blocks that are cleaned regularly. The atmosphere on site is fantastic, we have always got on really well with others on site it feels like you are with friends. The surroundings in Royal Victoria Park are beautiful, it also has a huge kids play area and has trampolines, mini golf in the summer, there is also a miniature train on site as well as a great cafe. Jim is the best host, really friendly and polite always asking if you are OK, hewould do anything to help you and interacts with everyone on site everyday. My son Harley made great friends with him and helped pick up the litter on site for which Jim kindly rewarded him, it was a nice gesture as it made him feel proud and very important. The is a big Tesco nearby so stocking up is easy. also a great chippy, a couple of pubs also a few takeaways deliver to site. If you are after a huge step up from the family tent this site is a must visit, we can't wait to book again next year Thanks to Jim and the whole team for another great year and we will see you again next year. Regards The Evans Family

We stayed as a group of 4 families and it had everything we needed to have a really enjoyable weekend. The site was easy to get to following the instructions that were given by the site (Google maps got a bit confused trying to send us to a different entrance but we followed the road signs). Once we arrived there is pace to park by each tent leaving a nice open space in the middle which we, and others at the site, could use for games with the kids. Each tent had a barbecue pit which we used for cooking but also to make a fire in the evening. There was also an electric grill under shelter which we used when it was raining and for making breakfast before we left. The grill ended up being very useful. When we were told there was tea and coffee available we were expecting a few sachets and teabags each but the kitchen was amply stocked for all 10 tents. The toilet bloke was always clean stocked up with loo roll so no threat of being caught short. The tent itself was the perfect size for a family of 4 with a trunk to store bits in and room to sleep or relax. The heater was a great touch and more than adequate to keep the tent warm at night. The location was perfect for taking a young family with plenty of things to do including a great play area within 10 minutes walk. There is a tesco extra within 10 minutes drive so was easy to pick up food or anything that is forgotten when packing. The site also had some takeaway menus inside the kitchen area of the campsite and the nearby cafe had pasties and pizzas as well as sandwiches. There was also a guy selling coffee by the entrance if you fancy walking to the beach area. The person running the site, Jim, was brilliant. He was friendly and never seemed too far away if you needed him. All 4 families we were with were very happy and would go back to the site.

On the mornong of our trip we were sent a text to inform us that we had been allocated tent number 3 and that check in was between 2 and 6pm. Having spent the day at Peppa pig world i replied to the text to find out the number of the second tent in the booking as we were 4 adults and 5 children (10, 9, 4, 4, 2) The reply stated cabin 14. I called the number and explained that we were one group who had called previosuly to request tents next to each other. Furthermore we purposely had chosen not book a cabin because of the steps inside them. I was told on the phone that booking.com had just allocated available pitches and that it was the fault if booking.com and nothing could be done about it as they were fully booked. I was also told that tent 3 and cabin 14 could see each other across the campsite. Arriving just before 6pm we discovered that tent 3 and cabin 14 could definately not see each other! With young children in the group this was far from ideal as we had hoped to be able to put them to bed and socialise as adults. But with no choice we got on with trying to enjoy our trip. Firstly task was to pick up all the dog poo that was on the grass immediately infront of the cabin. We then lit the BBQ and started to cook our dinner. At about 7pm a man marched over to us and said 'you haven't paid for this what are you doing here.' i explained that I recieved a text and that i had called and spent 10 minutes trying to sort it out as we didn't want a cabin and wanted 2 tents that we had booked. He said 'well you must have spoken to John and it's Johns day off today. I've been waiting here all day for you to arrive.' literally gobsmacked at his aggressive tone and how angry he was i explained that we had arrived just prior to 6pm which was within the 4 hour check in window to which he replied ' well i was out walking the dog' We were quite honestly shocked at his approach to us. He marched off after some more cross words. Half an hour later after my husband had popped back to tent 3 for a jumper he over heard the same man saying my name for tents 1 and 2. My husband said, thats the name of our booking and it became apparent that we had been given the wrong information and should have been in tent 1 and 2 all along. At this point an apology would have been all that was needed but instead he sent the group over to cabin 14 and said you have cabin 14!! So here we are a group of 9, burgers and sausages on the BBQ and 5 kids in and out the cabin, in and out the beds, toy cars everywhere with a large group of adults having been sent over to the cabin despite the site owner now knowing his mistake! So it was left to us to explain the situation to the group and apologise profusely for something that was not our error!! Thankfully a very understanding and nice group of people but understandably annoyed that they had paid extra for a cabin that they now couldn't have! Customer service was zero. It ruined a long awaited trip to catch up with friends and the way we were spoken to infront of the children was appauling. Some helpful info if you do decide to book: The kitchen area is communcal and shared amogst all the tents and cabins. It was nice enough and had most things you could need. The shower facilities were ok, pretty clean with electric showers that once you got the balance between scalding or freezing worked well. On leaving at 10am you can move to the overflow car park and explore the country park and benifit from free parking for the day.

Fantastic clean family-orientated campsite in a beautiful location with friendly and accommodating staff. There are tons of things to do locally or just enjoy the site and Park itself. The whole family enjoyed our stay and wished we could've stayed longer.

We spent 3 nights at the Bell Tent Glampibg site in Hampshire, and we loved it. Friendly, safe, clean and we’ll definitely be back. Jim and John were both very helpful with our booking and throughout our stay, I would highly recommend this as a lovely family venue set in a beautiful woodland area with easy access to bike trails, good restaurants and short car journey from the new forest and tourist spots like the docks in Portsmouth. All of us enjoyed sitting round the log fire in the evening - nice and quiet and relaxing.

Really enjoyed our stay for 3 nights. Set up has everything needed for a chilled vibe and no fuss. Everyone so friendly, including all the staff. So fantastic to see kids playing football and families mixing in a safe and confined area. Think a total of 15 tents so not huge but lovely atmosphere. Tents have electric fires in, light and plugs. Warm and really clean, beds comfy just took quilts and pillows. Bbq outside tent and facilities for cooking and breakfast area too, fridges and freezers for storage The toilets and showers cleaned daily. Great location have rebooked already and would definitely recommend it for a relax and chilled stay.

Just arrived back from a 5 night stay (3 tents) - postponed from last year. We were welcomed by Jim on arrival. Tents were clean and beds were comfortable, heater really did warm the tent in the evening when needed. Sockets and USB sockets were appreciated, especially by teenagers. The site was clean and whole area felt spacious enough that you didn't feel hemmed in by other campers. Had a lamp in the tents that was ample to see by. The showers and toilet block was clean and well stocked with hand soap and toilet rolls. Also anti-bac wipes were available in the toilet blocks. Didn't use the grill/pizza oven area just outside of the kitchen. There were ample plates, bowls, mugs and cutlery (short on teaspoons but we all know that they disappear even at home) but we'd taken our own anyway and washing up liquid/tea towels. Microwave and toaster available (again didn't need to use) Plenty of tea/coffee available but wasn't able to identify the milk that's for the whole camps use (supposed to be in fridge 1.2,3), as there were lots of milk in there at times. Perhaps indicated with marker pen might be an idea? I also wonder if largish plastic boxes with tent numbers on might be a way of separating peoples items in the fridges? The firepits, whilst fine for fires, wasn't so good for BBQs as the grill is too low and near to the coals. Son-in -laws managed to raise it for our cookout. Several take a-ways deliver to the campsite, Recommend The Jolly Friars (leaflet in kitchen) and Efe's Kebab and Pizza House (ordered through Just Eat) - ask Jim for address when ordering. We ate offsite at the Prince Consort Pub just down the road in Netley, great food and welcoming atmosphere. All in all a great few days.

The location is excellent and facilities were very good and spotlessly clean when we went so this could be a very good site with a few changes. My main concern is that the owner lets his dog loose to run around the campsite, he sniffs on tents and sniffing food on bbqs (so then the food is no longer edible - luckily we had pretty much finished but still not pleasant). When I approached the owner I mentioned that we had a child in our group that has a phobia of dogs to explain why we were shielding the dog away from our group (apart from the fact we didn’t want him sniffing our food or in our tents), however he became very defensive immediately and said that this was the dogs home and that it was clear on the website pictures that this dog was loose on the campsite. He also said I couldn’t tell him what to do with his dog (I didn’t actually even ask him to do anything different with his dog) and that our friends child should use his dog to “get over” her phobia. After speaking to the John (the bookings lead/other owner) to discuss the situation the owner then put the dog on the lead for the 2nd day. The 3rd day he let the dog back on the campsite loose again. There was no apology from either owners. The website clearly states dogs should be on leads on the campsite - but clearly there is one rule for campers and one for the owner. I guess if you are happy with dogs roaming loose then it would be ok, but it needs to be clear on the website. Also to note, there was mildew/mould on mattresses in one tent and another mattress we could feel every coil on, plus when we arrived we had to pick up dog mess. I won’t be returning, which is such a shame as it has the potential to be a very good site.

We just had our first weekend there and we can’t wait to go back.! The tent, kitchen and toilets/showers were very clean. Beds were comfortable, we just needed to bring pillows and blankets. The owner was very nice and extremely helpful. Thanks to him we knew everything we needed to know about the site and what to visit around it. We loved the fact that the site is in the country park and near the beach. Shame we had very loud music from 8:00 til 23:00 from our neighbours (3 families rented as a group), we could have done without!!!! Unfortunately not the owner’s fault…. On that note we did appreciate that he went around 11pm the site to tell them to tone it down (as per the T&Cs). In conclusion we really enjoyed our stay and can’t wait to go back.
