Absolutely delightful small hotel! Best reception lady ever (thank you Nayely), beautifully and tastefully decorated throughout, superb breakfast, lovely to have small bar open for evening nightcap and free parking. Location was excellent even though we were unable to enjoy it too much due to short stay. We highly recommend this hotel and will definitely look to stay again when we are next in the area.
We are pleased that you enjoyed your stay with us and thank you for your kind review which is very much appreciated. We hope that if you visit Portsmouth again you might stay a while longer. We look forward to welcoming you.
We were having an evening out in Portsmouth and decided to book a hotel stay so we didn't have to rush home by train. So glad we chose the Seacrest, the decor is very stylish (NB much has been updated since the photos that are online were taken), the staff were friendly and helpful, and there was a great choice for breakfast. So great to be able to support this independent hotel that has so beautifully conserved this heritage building. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
We are so pleased to have exceeded your expectations and thank you for your lovely review. We continually strive to make the Seacrest the best that it can be and it is nice to know that it is appreciated. Thank you again!
This hotel was a delight to stay in for 3 nights as we explored Portsmouth, well really a trip down memory lane for my parents. It is literally 5 minutes drive from the Royal Dockyard and 5 minutes walk from the D Day experience. The hotel is recently refurbished and very traditional in cosy homely maritime style in all the public reception rooms. The bar is friendly and sociable, and the lift was vital for my parents. The hotel is dog friendly and the dogs were extremely pleasant and well behaved which adds to it's atmosphere. The ensuite in the bedroom was luxurious and the room was kitted out with tea/coffee making facilities, flat screen TV and phone and central heating. The full English breakfast was absolutely delicious, butchers sausages and fresh eggs! Last of all the staff were totally professional, friendly, helpful and pleasant. It's a really a pleasant place to stay!
It was lovely to hear that you were here for a trip down memory lane and we hope that you enjoyed your time in Portsmouth - even though so much has changed. We are delighted you enjoyed your stay with us but feel we must point out to anyone reading this review that we are not really a Boutique Hotel, just a little seaside hostelry doing its best to be the best that we can be and enjoying every minute if it! We hoe you will return one day.
It was my turn to organise a reunion centred on Portsmouth. I didn't like the number of not so good reviews of the big hotels so I searched the wider area and found several in the Southsea area. Parking would be a problem at the first and then I found the Seacrest. As soon as I walked in, it felt nice and Carmen showed us several rooms. All nicely decorated and well maintained. While we there the staff were all helpful and dealt with anything we asked. The breakfast room was decorated just before our first visit and by the time of our stay, new chairs had been purchased. There didn't seem to be anything wrong with the old ones! A five minute walk takes you to a bus stop with a direct service to the Dockyards and Mary Rose so no issues with parking there. We had no difficulty parking outside the hotel using their permits. Within walking distance is The Florence Arms with good pub food. In the centre of Southsea we used the Montparnasse where we had a very good meal. If I needed to stay in this area again, this is where I would go without looking anywhere else.
It is always so difficult booking accommodation for others and we are especially mindful of this so always make sure the Organisers know what they are booking - it certainly helps to come and inspect the accommodation as you did. It was an absolute pleasure accommodating your little group and we are delighted you enjoyed your stay with us - we hope you will return one day!
I stayed at this beautiful, boutique, seafront hotel for a week 9th to 14th Nov 18, while visiting my son to celebrate his 21st birthday. The staff get to know you and you them and this was so important later in the week. Breakfast, included in my deal, as was consistently excellent as was housekeeping. The hotel is positioned within minutes walk of the South Parade Promenade and pier. You can take the air or drive wherever you need to go in Portsmouth easily. As a visitor from Egypt I received many parcels during my visit all of which were handled by the team perfectly. One even arrived after I had left but again many thanks to Julie, who processed its onward dispatch without fuss and demonstrated an over and above attitude to customer service.
We are pleased you enjoyed your stay with us and found time to share the experience with us here on TA. Although the parcels were not for us, it was very exciting accepting them all at the desk on your behalf. We hope you son had a wonderful 21st birthday and that all his parcels have now arrived. It was a pleasure having you to stay with us - we hope you will return one day!
