My husband, mother in law and I spent one night in this hotel and cancelled the other 2 we had booked. We were greeted by an elderly gentleman on reception who couldn't find the key to the room for my husband and I. He repeatedly asked if he had already given my husband the key then said we could have a... More

Yes it's a bit tired.. But it's a delight to visit somewhere that hasn't had the soul taken from it. The rooms are large and clean... In fact didn't see any dirt anywhere. The staff are helpful, friendly and even seem to be pleased to see you, and that doesn't always happen in hotel receptions. The location is perfect for... More

Its true the hotel could do with a good dose of spit and polish, worn carpets and spoiled decor could do with replacing. But look at the plus points. The hotel is very central, the staff cant do enough for you, the breakfast is wholesome and plentiful, the rooms are warm and everything works with a good shower. The parking is free,... More

Whilst yes I agree the Keppels Head Hotel is frayed on the surface the room staff, concierge and the breakfast staff more than make up for the frayed edges of this Hotel. The breakfast selection is lovely, the dining room spotless and the friendliness of the servers excellent. When on arrival I was informed that they do not serve lattes... More

The Keppels Head Hotel is in a great location within a few minutes walk of the Historic Dockyard and also the Gunwharf Shopping Centre. It also has its own car park. The hotel itself is a very interesting place - built we were told in 1797 - and the views at the front are great overlooking the water and HMS... More

This was a trip down memopry lane as I had visted the Admiral Keppel 60 years ago! The hotel is very well located for both the harbourside activities as well as the City Centre. The rooms are spacious and ours was on the top (attic) floor which wasn't a problem if you didn't mind the lift!! Decor is very tired... More

The hotel is situated in a prime location, right by the fantastic naval dockyard ang Gunwharf Quays, it could be so much more! The staff were very friendly and helpful, and the breakfast was good, but the decoration, condition, and general state of the hotel was terrible. We had no shower in our room, the tiles were broken and parts... More

Shocking. Dire. The hotel itself and all of the decor is honestly terrifying a mixture from the 30's to the 70's the halls are like something out of the shining, ideal setting for a horror film ,i wouldn't even step foot in the shower if you haven't had your vaccinations first also the beds are very uncomfortable, the carpets are...
