She has gone. What a change in atmosphere. Still pricey but great staff and management. Hooray . Yet to try the food but looks good. Glad to be back. Garden is looking better and a great place to meet. Friends stay ed and said all good.

Nice old building and a good pub bar, but we found it a very disappointing place to stay, compared to its own write-ups. It was to be a special occasion for us, but we checked out after just one night to avoid spoiling the whole trip. We apparently had one of the better rooms, but it was dark, cold (radiators...

Room: Stayed one night. Checked in to room number 3, which I loved. Shabby chic furnishings in the room, very neutral duck-egg colours for the walls. Quite tranquil actually. Bathroom was spotless, decent shower, lovely toiletries. I slept incredibly well! Food: Really, really good! Lots of reviews complaining about the price but that's life I'm afraid - eating out isn't...

This is an old building so things (like floors) are not always flat and straight. Spent a couple of nights here having confirmed my reservation and room rates on the telephone. The rates quoted for the two nights were different with the Saturday cost being the higher of the two. The room was nice if a little quirky in that...

We stayed at the Lion Inn pub for a couple of nights. Even though the room was above the bar and slightly noisy on Friday night we still really enjoyed it. The room was cosy. The restaurant served great food. We had breakfast and dinner. The pub itself was nice. The barman was welcoming and good fun. I would definitely...

For the last 48 hours I have tried the telephone number on your website numerous times, left a voicemail & emailed & still no response. What do I have to do to book a table at the Lion Inn ?? One very frustrated potential customer.

Dear justinwinstanley, I'm very sorry to hear that you have had difficulty getting through, I have checked our voicemail and emails, which also give send wave files of voice mails, but unfortunately we don't have any from yourself. I'm not entirely sure what's happened, as we have had plenty of other voice mails and emails for table bookings, and can...

I’m so pleased we decided to ignore the few negative reviews of this place as we spent the most lovely night here last Sunday. We were checked in late afternoon by a charming young guy and the service and quality of staff remained as good throughout our stay – friendly, professional and helpful. Our room was decorated simply but tastefully...

My partner and I had an overnight stay on Saturday as a base for our visit to the Gloucestershire and Warwickshire Steam Railway's Wartime in the Cotswolds event. On arrival we were given a warm welcome by our host, Trelawny, who was a lovely gentleman and warm host. Our room overlooked the courtyard and garden, and had a delightful charming...

Surprised at all the negative reviews about this bar & hotel. This is a 450 year old building, you can't double glaze this lovely, charming place. The staff are most accommodating, friendly & knowledgeable. The food on both of our stays here was far better than some of the "5 Star" places we've been too. The bed was comfy, the...

My husband and I stayed here last night and had a lovely stay. We were well looked after by the gentleman behind the bar who was warm, welcoming and had great banter! The decor is fab with a real cool country vibe and the food is super special! We both had the pulled chicken pasta and I have asked the...
