We had a beautiful room, close to a outside door to the car park which made life easy for us as we were travelling with a dog. The room and bathroom were spotlessly clean, attractively decorated and the bathroom was large. The hotel staff were delightful and the breakfasts probably the best we have ever eaten - beautifully prepared fresh...

Staff and Service excellent staff looks it's being left alone, unmotivated and have to handle the work and stress on their own. Not like it was before, General managers support is vanished, although on site, never to be seen.

The smell of open fires hits you on way in, so cosy already. The jubilee room is our favourite although we have stayed in the other rooms and they are all lovely. Quirky and different! Fab!! Food is amazing. Love the dining room and sitting there eating breakfast is a joy. The hotel is quirky, designer , extremely old and...

This is indeed a lovely hotel and we had a fantastic one night break, with great food at both dinner and breakfast. (Not worth knocking a star off, but worth mentioning that there are only 2 fireplaces, one of which can only be accessed by the reception staff. Possible redesign needed!)

We had a great one night stay here over Christmas. The breakfast was really superb and the atmosphere in the hotel was excellent. The weather was very cold and it was great to have a log fire in the sitting room, the reception and even the restaurant for breakfast. One minor issue was the front door of the hotel opening...

My family and I, together with some close friends and their 3 children enjoyed a wonderful evening meal at The Close between Christmas and NY 2016. As diners, we enjoyed the bar and restaurant, and got a look at some of the common areas as we walked the corridors between the restaurant and the rest rooms. On leaving, we also...

Booked the hotel for a pre-Christmas break. We were impressed immediately with the look and feel of the hotel. The staff were excellent. Really welcoming, friendly and helpful. We booked dinner in the brasserie and we had some of the best food ever. The sirloin steak and the wild mushroom risotto were our main course choices and they were absolutely...
