We went for lunch on a cloudy wintery day. The setting was very good and the food was superb and they catered for my dietary requirements with no problem at all. The staff were friendly and very welcoming. Would be even better in the summer after a nice walk on the common!

The food served on a Sunday lunchtime by French waiters was top quality, although it was distinctly lacking in quantity. One needs to eat 3 courses at least to satisfy one's hunger. I was impressed by the quality of the food, but the lack of enough vegetables was disconcerting. I only used the restaurant, not the hotel rooms.

We found this place by chance whilst looking for a place to eat for a family group of 26 which included children. Management provided us with 2 bottles of white wine and 2 bottles of red wine on the house (red wine was not great, but it was on the house and we did not pay for it). The food...

This area is fantastic for a little or larger walk. In addition the Pub is well laid out and inviting. Fireplace, nice dressed tables in a relaxed atmosphere. The service is fantastic too and this was simply the best Sunday Lunch I had for a long time in a Pub. The price was fair and the portions generous. Will want...

Having booked some weeks ahead, we were disappointed to be shown to a small, hot room (the hot water pipes apparently ran under the floor) with the window (small) tight shut. The bed was small; there was only one bedside light with the rest of the table occupied by a kettle; the other bedside table was a 'leather' bar stool...

My friends wedding was here and it was lovely. They couldn't do enough to help her and her guests. Our room was clean and modern but very hot, I did turn the radiators down as they were on full. The food at the reception was great but drinks a little pricy.

On Thursday December 15 ,I had quite the most delicious succulent traditional Christmas lunch, locally reared turkey and all the trimmings plus pudding . The staff were excellent and considering we were a very large group of diners congratulations to the chef and all his staff are well deserved.

An underwhelming lunch. Lovely setting on Minchinhampton Common and fine building but the meal didn't live up to the setting. We had bouillabaisse for our main course which lacked taste - rather insipid. For dessert we had coffee creme caramel with coconut ice cream. We couldn't taste the coconut which rather summed up the meal. The staff were pleasant, so...

The Old Lodge is set in wonderful countryside with lovely views over the Common. The interior is cosy and well furnished and the food was delicious. We had a family reunion of 10 and although a wedding was being catered for we were served very efficiently and made to feel welcome

We had our wedding here last weekend. They were very patient with us. They spent time to talk through what we wanted etc. On the day everything went really smoothly, they decorated the room for us and were ready exactly as planned. The food was delicious. Everyone commented on the wedding breakfast food and I didn't hear a single gripe....
