How dissapointing. Good food totally spoiled by awful staff attitude. After an hour and 25 mins we eventually got our main course. When I made the point to one of the managers, that other tables had come in after us and were now waiting on their deserts, I was petulantly ask 'what tables ?' . When I pointed them out,...

We met my brother and his wife at the Old Lodge for a Sunday lunch. The place was easy to find and a nice location. The outside looks tatty but the inside was cosy, warm and well decorated. The service was excellent! The food was okay, we had three roast dinners and one main course. All of the roasts were...

Arrived to a very old world friendly charming atmosphere. Unfortunately the gas was not working so we had a reduced menu to choose from, despite this the staff were doing a sterling job with the kitchen apparatus that was working. A bit of a wait due to it being very busy but we were offered some olives and bread to...

My daughter gave us a voucher for a meal here as a Christmas present and we used it last night in company with two other couples. On arrival I was impressed with the surroundings old world, cosy and comfortable, our table was reserved and ready for us. The menu is quite extensive with an additional specials list. I am awkward...

Visited for the first time on Sunday. In the middle of the common, like being in the middle of Dartmoor.Amazing food, brilliant ambience and attentive service. Evie in particular did everything she could to make our visit memorable. Highly recommend and can't wait to go back.

What a lovely evening and as it was snowing it made it an even more idyllic setting. From the moment we walked in the staff were very friendly and really attentive, we didn't want for anything and nothin was too much trouble. Fantastic evening .Thank you to all the staff.

We used a Travelzoo voucher. Excellent food, well cooked and looked delicious. The lamb melted in my mouth and the red cabbage was lovely. I also had a home made brandy snap basket with three slices of Chocolate mousse which was large and a smaller portion would have been adequate.

I stayed for two nights in a single en-suite room. The room was small and far too hot. I managed to control the heating, but it was still hot. The TV had no BBC programmes and the TV signal was lost several times. The telephone in my room did not work. Breakfast only started at 8.00am, which I felt was...

My father in laws 80'birthday celebration in A private dinning room was superb. Although a few hiccups with food delivery the evening was a great success. Calum the waiter for the evening did a good job with speedy drinks service and delivered good food.
