We have stayed at this hotel twice before and loved it. The rooms in the old stable block are lovely, staff and food excellent. This time we just went for a day out there and Sunday lunch. We had a delicious lunch and then a lovely cup of tea in the gardens before we came home.

At last we have got around to having dinner at Stow Lodge and we were not disappointed. A very traditional feel to the restaurant, with excellent service from the staff - all rather lovely. Set dinner menu, but with a very good choice of dishes (including three vegetarian options). Huge wine list, but a lovely Shiraz from the 'house wine'...

We enjoyed 4 nights here and the location is fabulous. Stow is not a big town but being on the square means great access to local restaurants. To be honest the rooms could use a refurb and one that is in keeping with the age of the hotel. Its a little bit 70's. Our room was particularly small but we...

So many restaurants in Stow and I chose this one! Pretends to be a' la carte and charges the same prices but the food is dull but it goes well with the atmosphere - dull! Poor choice on the menu should have given a clue. Even the choice of beers on tap at the bar was limited to...one! We paid...

Popped in for Lunch at this 3 star AA Hotel, excellent service good value food for lunch finished off by excellent desert. And finally coffee in the lounge to finish. I would recommend this hotel certainly for lunch if you are looking for somewhere to eat in the town at lunchtime.

Beautiful old building, most sympathetically restored. Decor & room appointment exactly as it should be in a local historical hotel. Delightful residents' lounge with large open fire. Excellent staff in all departments. Standard hotel dinner cuisine, but outstanding breakfast with high quality ingredients & all personally served in the old style. A splendid place.

Unfortunately we only booked for one night! We shall certainly rectify this next time. We had a wonderful meal and the breakfast was exceptional. What we really enjoyed was the personal service demonstrated by the Staff. Nothing was too much trouble and every request was met with a smile. The hotel does not allow children under 5 or dogs of...

This family run hotel clearly operates a 'happy ship' with professional long-serving staff who pass on the warm, friendly atmosphere to their guests. The food was excellent, great produce, cooked very well & piping hot. Small attention to details - no packets & bottles on show here! The restaurant & bar were very comfortable and smart without being ostentatious. The...

We have been visiting Stow Lodge several times a year since 1983 (yes 1983) and it remains to be as good as ever. The management, staff, food and overall service remain first class and a credit to everyone there. Long may it continue.
