We booked a weekend at this hotel. We were in the highlands room which was in the attic and had a good view overlooking the hills. The room was comfortable and as it's was a 16th century wool merchants house had uneven floors and stone walls. Staff at the hotel were very friendly. Breakfast was really good and you had...

Lovely place to stay in a period of history within the lovely house and in the surrounding town that is lovely and small feels more like a village in size. Staff very friendly and the breakfast tasty, good idea having a menu check list to be filled out each night for each guest. I stayed in the New England room...

Lovely building and pleasant enough but I did find it slightly odd and mis-matched. False flowers are a pet hate especially when they are so old they have lost all colour. Pictures on the wall had labels attached, I assume they were for sale?, but again so old and faded they couldn't be read. Ditch the old stuff and get...

Be warned - although the website states that breakfast must be purchased directly, we opted not to have breakfast as we had early starts each morning. However, we were made to pay for breakfast for both days - £40. To pay for something we did not have, nor were we advised at check-in that we would be charged regardless, completely...

The reviewer stayed with us using a promotional voucher offer which is accomodation only for two nights. As the reviewer points out the terms and conditions clearly state that the charge for breakfast applies, as this offer is for accommodation only, whether the guest actually has had breakfast and we always make this point at the time of booking at...

It is a nice, quaint bed and breakfast. To be fair, it is what you would expect from an old style house, and certainly has plenty charm. Breakfast was very tasty. Staff are a bit eccentric but nice. Overall a positive experience. There is no parking.

Firstly, it might just be our room that has led me to leave this review - it seems other people have enjoyed their stay in different rooms, but I can only base this on our experience. Painswick / Stroud / Minchinhampton is an area we know well and have visited often, staying in a number of B&Bs in the area...

The reviewer stayed in our Arabian Nights room which has limited natural light and no outlook. As a result it is not to every guests taste though we do have many guests who return to the room regularly. We only accept bookings for this room by telephone, when the room style is always discussed, or through our website where the...

Painswick is a lovely little town and this hotel is very well located right in the centre, although parking is tricky i the narrow streets as there is no car park. We had a perfectly decent night's sleep - and probably would have been very happy in any other room, but we were not happy in room 8, Arabian Nights....

We booked the pool room - with the premium it commands - to have a private and comfortable place for a weekend overnight stay. The pool is not directly accessible from the room but via an outside path. That was not too much trouble, but for the price we paid we didn't quite expect to have to roll off the...

We stayed in the Highlands Room for three nights this month. We found the room dark, dreary and stuffy with one window that barely opened. I saw the owner briefly (two minutes!) during our stay and mentioned our impression of the room. His comment was something like, "That's the way rooms were centuries ago". Maybe so, but dark carpet and...

This B&B is run by a New Zealander who is quite welcoming and talkative. The building dates from the 1400's. We stayed in the old Tuscan room while friends stayed in the Palm Beach room. Each room is themed. Great shower, comfy 4 poster bed. Watch your head on the way in. Rooms are upstairs on two to three levels....
