How wonderful it was,had a deal for afternoon tea which included a glass of prosecco,on arrival at the hotel, which is very olde worldly,we were greeted by the receptionist and taken into a room overlooking the most beautiful gardens, tea was presented promptly, and considering what we had paid was very, very good value for money,we were just passing through but we all thought... This is our second visit here and it is still lovely and charming. Clean, Warm and plenty of hot water. Would definitely return again as it is a central location to many places in the Cotswalds and excellent value for money. We used the dining room facilities but found that the food choice not as good as our first visit,... More

We visited this hotel as received it as an offer but I'm not sure we would stay here again, there was nothing wrong with its just very dated ( felt like we were staying at my Nan's house!!) and unfortunately it has no atmosphere, the restaurant /bar especially. The staff were excellent and couldn't do enough for you, breakfast was... More

Felt at ease as soon as we walked in. The Room was very large and comfortable with two easy chairs for a change. I think we had a deluxe room. The Food in the restaurant at Dinner was first class, not a huge range but what there was was very good indeed. Extremely good value for money . Ee had... More

Had two nights stay here last weekend. Staff were very good and friendly. Location of hotel very close to lovely town Cirencester. Ideal location to go out and about as lots of places to visit within half hour drive. Had food in the bar one night and restaurant the second. Food I felt was of a good quality and not... More

After reading the recent review was a little dubious but as this was a gift thought we'd give it a chance. It was a lovely rustic house with yes old decor but in keeping with the heritage of the house. And remember it is 3 star not 5 star before you write a review. Afternoon tea was delightful and tasty.... More

Positives... Great for dog owners as meals can be taken in bar with your pet, change that to "positive".., that was the only one Negatives, looks like a care home for the elderly, lounge area so dated Booked a stay through " Secret Escapes" upgraded to feature room, requested a double, got a twin. Stayed here for one night with work. The rooms were fine and the service was good. Would happily stay here again. The town is a very short taxi ride away for a great selection of restaurants and the hotel will happily book these for you. Good parking and easy to find.

My husband and I received a voucher for afternoon tea as a present and took advantage of it on Sunday. I can honestly say that we were very disappointed. We are locals and know the hotel well but have not been for awhile as various changes of ownership have seen it go downhill. We sat at the top of the... More

Room was upgraded, but poor. Cleanliness in bathroom was non existant. Room needed to be revamped. They could take a leaf out of a Premier Inn. A warning that the water was hot should have been listed. Plastic cups in bathroom not a good idea.

Dear Guest Thank you for taking the time to write your review. The hotel will soon be going through a refurbishment programme, however it will not be based around Premier Inn I'm pleased to advised as this is a 300 year old country house and not a purpose built accommodation structure. Plastic cups are used in our bathrooms for H&S... More
