1st visit since the hotel and restaurant was taken over and will be my last. I went on a Thursday night (23rd Feb) with 3 friends and we were the only table in the restaurant all night. service was lacking, needless to say there was no atmosphere and the food - well considering the chef had a very quiet night...

Sorry to hear of the issues you experienced on your most recent visit and please rest assured that these are not typical of the standard of food served regularly in Monty's. It is somewhat difficult for me to investigate your comments now however I will most certainly be raising the issues you mention with the team. I can only hope...

The George was great for a town centre hotel. Near the shops and attractions of both the town and Montpellier district. The free car parking was a real bonus. Stayed on a break package with two nights, upgraded from superior double to mini suite (just a slightly bigger room with settee) and a great bathroom. B&B for 2 weekend nights...

It's a traditional, old hotel, in a great location. Best thing about the George is their caring, attentive staff. They made our stay extra special in so many ways. They guided us about the city and trains/bus schedules and locations for good eats. We also enjoyed a wonderful cooked to order English breakfast served so nicely by Ola (sp?), who...

I had one night in the hotel at the weekend. The Hotel is easy to find, parking at front and back. Although on a main road into Cheltenham, the hotel was quiet. Our room was at that back, so no road noise. We had a Classic Double, not the small double, as we're both tall and like a big bed.......

A comfortable, welcoming hotel. The staff are professional and welcoming from the staff serving at breakfast, to reception, the bar and the bistro. They obviously take pride in their work and care about the guest experience. My room was a good size, comfortable and spotless with a view towards an old church spire. It is a grade II listed building...

This hotel is right in the centre of Cheltenham and an easy walk to the shops and bars/restaurants. The outside could do with a lick of paint but know that it is having a refurb this year. The room and bathroom was lovely - clean and modern - and the bed really comfy. We were on top floor and there...

Stayed here for a weekend break. Free car parking right in the centre of the town. Room was fine and very quiet would definitely stay again. Easy to find the hotel and there was ample parking in the front and at the back of the hotel.

Thank you for your kind words and glad to hear you enjoyed your time with us here at The George. Parking for free in a prime town centre location certainly is a rarity these days with some hotels charging as much as £14 for a 24 hour stay! Despite being only minutes walk from the town centre we are in...

A much needed last minute break for my husband and i. Reception staff lovely. Room was super..more than enough space..large bed and fab separate bath and massive shower. Also wine and chocolates in room in arrival a nice touch. A super breakfast at montys in the morning before we headed off. Would definitely recommend.

Thanks for your kind words and glad to hear you enjoyed our valentines break. 1/2 a bottle of Nyetimber English Sparkling Wine and a box of Hotel Chocolat chocolates cant fair to get a night away off to a good start in my opinion! Look forward to welcoming you back soon. Thanks - Simon

What a lovely hotel! The staff were friendly and cheerful from check-in to check-out. We had booked a small double room but were more than pleasantly surprised to find we had been put in what appeared to be a junior suite. Very comfortable bed, fabulously big bath and walk-in shower, all very clean. Breakfast was really nice with excellent bacon...
