We spent two nights along with two friends at the Old Manse Hotel and although a little apprehensive after reading some of the reviews we were highly delighted to have chosen this hotel. Set in the lovely Cotswolds village of Bourton on the Water it is in a great location for visiting the area. The rooms although small were clean...

Very small rooms, creaky floors, dirty bathrooms, loud extractor fan outside room. Also had an incident with very loud kitchen staff above room that would not quieten down, despite complaining 3 times to reception.

This is the second time we have stayed in this hotel, and what a shame it has lost all it's charm, especially the staff. We arrived early hoping our room would be ready. The girl who was diving backwards and forwards to the reception area couldn't even say "Hello or Welcome", she just said 2 pm check in and left...

My partner and I visited the Cotswolds for a short break at the beginning of March 2017. It was a glorious day and on arrival Bourton-on-the-water looked beautiful as we entered the village. The Old Manse Hotel was in a lovely position alongside the River Windrush. Check in went well with no problems the male receptionist was polite friendly and...

We stayed here with four friends for two nights. Accommodation was cheap and staff helpful and attentive. The hotel itself was smart but the rooms need some upgrading. The hotel is very central and has a lovely garden area for sunny afternoons by the water.

One night stopover at the old manse with a wonderful room overlooking the river. Classic style room which was quirky with an olde style feel. With breakfast included in the room rate i thought this offered exceptionally good value.

Just a weekend stay, but the Hotel was very good. The room was clean and comfortable with all the usual amenitites. What really made the stay great was the staff. They were ALL cheerful, very polite, and always there when needed. The cleaning staff, waiters, reception. They made you feel they were there just for you. An added benefit for...

Room was tired, shower room wasn't the cleanest also if you are a larger person you could burn yourself on radiator (too close to toilet) we are lucky not being large. The staff were good and friendly, breakfast was cooked nicely but had Sunday evening meal I had turkey but they put a beef gravey on it so ended up...

The positives : the hotel is quaint and in a perfect location. We stayed in Room 16 in the Annex. It was very small but snug . This is not a room for those who want modern air-conditioned comfy sofas and a bath to soak in .It is however for those who wish to have a 19th century cottage experience. Again...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The Old Manse is a delightful English country inn overlooking the river Windrush, which flows gently through the centre of this picture-postcard Cotswold village. You can enjoy exploring this historic area of outstanding natural beauty with a stroll around the quaint little village of Bourton or simply curl up in front of a roaring log fire. Our rooms are all en-suite, where their size and layout do reflect the historic nature of our building, great for short stays and as a base to explore this beautiful location. Some of our rooms are located in the Old Manse Cottage, a short distance from the main building, but equally full of quirky features. A great selection of food and drink is available from our restaurant and bar. Guests should be aware that our car park is limited, however our team are always willing to assist guests with luggage and finding local alternate parking facilities. ... more   less
