Visited the Hope Anchor Hotel for one night via a Groupon deal so wasn't expecting much, but how wrong could you be. Parked up outside the hotel in a quiet cobbled street overlooking the estuary. We were greeted by Chris the Director who was very friendly and welcoming and were shown to our cosy room which was very clean and... More

My wife and I took advantage of a Groupon voucher to visit Rye. From the moment we arrived the service was superb, the room was good with a channel view. The weather on arrival was very windy and the hotel had lost a few tiles. The wind was very strong on the first night but subsided for the rest of... More

We stayed for 1 night with a groupon voucher. The check in was excellent, the staff very friendly and helpful. We stayed in the Bolthole room which was small but really cosy and it had everything that we required. It was in the town so you dont need your car. The breakfast was good, the waiters were new I assume... More

Lovely small hotel in Rye. Comfortable room, staff very friendly. Very good food in restaurant. Right in town centre, parking limited but we found space. Quiet area and reached by cobbled streets. Would definitely come back again to this hotel.

Weekend break using Groupon. Hotel in a great location but quite difficult to drive to through the narrow and winding streets. Once parked easy to walk around Rye and visit some nice pubs. Breakfast was very good. Our room overlooked the river and was comfortable but quite small - because of the Groupon deal? Would stay here again.

I recently stayed here for 1 night on a business trip and thoroughly enjoyed my stay. I booked online and when I arrived was shown to an apartment in a building across the street which was called the admirals apartment. It was really nice and had great views across the river and open countryside and across Rye town. There was... More

We stayed for two nights in March and had a great time. We had booked a deluxe double and were given the Port Hole Room which was small and claustrophobic and we felt we couldn't stay there. However, they managed to change us to the Crows Nest room which was much better and more in keeping with what a deluxe... More

I've given this review 5 stars as I cannot fault the service we received here for the amount of money it cost. We stayed 2 nights in room 5 on an upgraded Groupon offer. The room was a good size and immaculate, We had a very comfortable, quiet 2 nights sleep. Breakfast choice was everything we needed - cereals, fruit,... More

I can only reiterate what others have said about the town and hotel. Unique is best to describe town. Hotel situated at the top of unreal fabulous, narrow cobbled stoned lanes. Agree about parking. Better to come by bike !! Not much of it but in the four days that we were there ,never found it a problem. Terrific staff. Very... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Although famous for its past, the Hope Anchor is known locally for its stunning views across the Quayside, Romney Marshes, Camber Castle and beyond to the sea. Most of our rooms enjoy these panoramic views and to be honest they need to be seen to be believed. Although beautiful all year round the sunsets in summer bring locals young and old to enjoy alfresco dining accompanied of course with a glass or two of wine! ... more   less
