I came here for the night with the girls. We had 4 twin rooms, all were clean and tidy and all the staff were very helpful. The breakfast was great, couldn't fault it. It was also lovely to sit outside the hotel with a view of the beach. I am staying again at the end of the week with my...

Our first room was on the fifth floor reached by a cramped and rickety lift The room itself was dowdy, the bathroom old-fashioned and the floor boards very very creaky. i could imagine the disturbance that this would cause in the middle of the night So we went back to reception to express our misgivings. I was very relieved when...

This is a stunning old hotel in a good location on the front in Brighton. My room was decorated OK with views of the beach, sea and pier. The staff are attentive. However as well as the positives there are significant downsides to this hotel. Although presentable my room lacked significantly in plug sockets, meaning juggling around between TV, lamps,...

Very traditional hotel. Some areas have been revamped recently but some areas definitely need refreshing. The lift is extremely small and a bit tired but overall this is a great hotel with really super staff. Every member had a lovely smile on their faces and nothing was too much trouble. Well done for recruiting such lovely people. We had a standard...

From the start to finish, staying at The Old Ship Hotel was a plesant experince. Firstly, there is the option of parking and leaving your car. Secondly, every attraction for the first time visitor such as the famous pier is close. Upon arrival, we were met by the garage who called the for the concierge. He assisted us with our...

Classical old English hotel with excellent location. A maze of corridors with scores of closed fire doors, not an easy hotel to carry your luggage through. Wall-to-wall carpets everywhere, beware if you are allergic. Room was basic, with overly soft bed. Furniture had seen better days. Bathroom old fashioned and could do with a face lift. Full English Breakfast, not...

Stayed at the weekend with my partner after booking last minute the evening before. We knew parking was going to be a nightmare so we went to the hotel around 2pm to check in and get a space in the car park.. this cost £25 for overnight parking until 12pm. Location is great, right along the sea front and very...

To start with the pros: wonderful location situated directly on the seafront, large enough that even when busy there were nooks and crannies where you could find a comfortable seat to relax in, the décor was lovely with it being an old hotel yet with modern refurbished and airy bedrooms, the bedroom I stayed in was very big and comfortable....

OK, first the staff, all in all were excellent, upon arrival we weren't happy with our room, the floor creaked very badly everywhere we stepped, upon calling reception they arranged for us to see another room, of which we moved to. IT was however explained because of the age of parts of the hotel, the floors to creak! The room and...
