Its set in a lovely area, just off a lawned square (Regency Square, in fact!) which looks down over the sea (near the old pier) from the outside and first glance it looks as though a lot of money has been spent and it'll be a lovely hotel. Its very clean looking and seems to have been refurbished very recently....

Pleasantly surprised by this hotel. Booked last minute on a bank holiday weekend and was apprehensive of what we had in store with the hotel itself. It's in a fantastic location, the old pier is just at the end of the road, shops near by and a street of testaurants behind which was a great find. A great location for...

We stayed here for the Friday and Saturday of the early bank holiday in May. Location: Really convenient location in Regency Square (where there is a big car park). About 15 min walk to the pier, 10 to the Lanes and modern shopping centre. Room: Very clean and comfortable. Bed was a little hard but was fine for two nights....

My partner and I used Topps as a last minute place to stay on our anniversairy last year. We booked around midday, arrived 3 hours later and were quite pleased with what we found. The bed was nice and clean, bathroom and the whole room was spacious too - enough for a table (at which we played a few feeble...

We stayed here for two days before the Brighton Marathon 2013. We booked a room that was more expensive as it said it would not be noisy on the website. How wrong!! The first night we could hear guests opening and closing doors, banging around on the floor above us and talking in the corridors. The window is single glazed...

My wife and I spent two night at Topps over Easter Bank Holiday weekend and it was perfect for our needs. We stayed in room 169 (I think!) which is at the rear of the building on the top floor. It really is exactly as they describe on their website so there isn't too much to add on this review....

Room stayed in was on the ground floor, on the street side of the hotel. Room and bathroom was clean, modern and a good size. Hotel is about 15 minute walk into town, if you want to go out to the bars and more popular restaurants, a little further for the train station but very easy to get to. Was...

We stayed in Brighton last weekend with our friends as it was my birthday; two other couples as well as myself and hubby, all of us staying in the same hotel. I was worried by some of the reviews I'd read as I'm a light sleeper, but I slept soundly both nights. The room we were in was spotlessly clean,...

We stayed for 2 nights. the exterior is very nice, and the location is ideal, as it is right on the seafront and opposite a multistory car park (although be warned, the car park smells AWFUL). On arrival the gentleman on the front desk was extremely helpful and advised us on parking. The building itself seemed very clean and had...

Simple and straight forward hotel. TV annoyed me as had to be turned on and off at the mains to get it working but the hotel was a nice environment and the location was great. No restaurant or bar and the hotel only offers doubles beds in all rooms which I found unique/odd. Overall, Topps is a nice hotel. Basic...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Topps is situated in the heart of Regency Square in three beautifully restored Regency period listed-buildings, ideally located within a short walking distance of Brighton Pier, Churchill Square Shopping Centre, Brighton Conference Centre, the Lanes and all that Brighton has to offer. The beach is less than 100 yards away and there is a multi-storey underground car park at our door-step. Regency Square is one of the oldest squares in Brighton directly opposite the old West Pier, soon to be home to the i360, a 600 foot tall observation tower.Topps has recently undergone extensive refurbishment. We have carefully restored the exterior of our buildings to their former glory. Most of our generously sized en-suite guestrooms have been renovated to a very high modern standard. Features include real wood flooring, flatscreen TVs with Freeview, comfortable new beds and well appointed bathrooms. A number of our guestrooms overlook Regency Square and have views of the sea. Some of our Executive Rooms are air-conditioned and we are working to extend this feature to all the rooms.Nearby Preston Street is home to many bars, clubs, discos and restaurants. The newly restored Victorian Bandstand is close-by where weddings and dancing fans take the center stage most weekends. If you are keen to try "Slacklining", the latest craze, you will find plenty of enthusiasts practising or showing off their skills on the beach in front of the old West Pier. Our aim is to provide our guests with modern, clean and comfortable accommodation. Based on feedbacks, our room-only rates are excellent value for money in Central Brighton for the high quality accommodation we provide. ... more   less
