Had a really lovely stay at Riverdale House. Judy and Richard were very warm and welcoming, beautiful room with loads of amenities (mini fridge, bottles of water, kettle / tea / coffee etc), immaculate en suite, fab breakfast - great selection, beautifully presented and delicious. Best of all, they accept dogs in one of the bedrooms and Richard was great...

This large house sits on a knoll overlooking the valley. The property is only a half to three quarters of a mile outside Alfriston but feels like a country setting. Richard and Judy were very, very helpful. As part of an arrangement, Richard drove us down to Eastbourne and provided interesting background of the area. Breakfasts were traditional and good....

Stayed in the Cuckmere room for 2 nights, large and comfortable room overlooking the Cuckmere Valley. Richard and Judy are really welcoming hosts and in addition to providing quality B & B they also allow use of the dining room, incl the microwave, should you wish to bring in your own food in the evening. Fridge to store drinks too....

Owner Richard is really excellent in supporting his guests in their trips. He does not push his ideas, gives good practical support, books pubs. He connects well to families. His B&B is in a stylish house with a great view. We had the Litlington room which actually is consisting of two rooms and a bathroom: very convenient for families. Also...

We needed to stay near to Newhaven and Riverdale was ideal from that point of view. The only room available was the ground floor garden room but we decided to go ahead. We received a warm welcome from Richard and briefed on various aspects. The house is lovely but we would not stay in the ground floor room again- limited...

Our host Richard was very helpful providing us with information about the South Downs Way route, which saved us a bit of shoe leather. Breakfast was excellent and set us up for a full day of walking. The house has been beautifully...

We are a family of five who stayed at the Riverside House a night in June. The rooms were very nice and comfortable. Especially we found the host very friendly and helpful. We were bicycling on our way to Paris, and were shown around by the host on different routes. The breakfast was excellent and of all different styles, even...
