Spent two nights here for a short break. Hotel is in a quiet location, but only a short walk to the beach and shops. Lovely gardens, clean rooms, good food (breakfast very tasty). There is no lift but i didnt find that too much trouble, room 17 on top floor has a nice view of swanage and the bay, the...

Stayed at Purbeck House for the second time. Had the same room, great. Service throughout was exellent. Breakfast menu good and varied both hot and cold food available. If hot, freshly cooked. No complaints at all. Reccomend this hotel every time. Thank you Purbeck House. Michael Moore.

We enjoyed a three day stay in Louisa Lodge, the modern annex to this rambling Victorian pile as members of a rambling group. The Hotel was clean and obviously well run and the staff were courteous and helpful. Breakfasts were good but the food at supper time was a bit variable and the 'Table d' Hote' gave rather limited options,...

We stayed in Louisa Lodge which had beautifully furnished large rooms and was separate from the main hotel. The grounds are lovely and well maintained and we found the whole experience very pleasant. The staff were friendly and professional and the standard of cleaning excellent. We enjoyed some delicious dinners in George Burt's dining room and excellent breakfasts in the...

We've stayed at the purbeck many times and we were really disappointed this time. The whole hotel lacks any character and is drab and lifeless. Has more of a feel of a run down care home. Little money spent on any updating. The heat in the hotel was over bearing and was really uncomfortable. Breakfast was awful, chef clearly has...

My family and I stayedat the Purbeck Hotel & Louisa Lodge over the May bank holiday and found the hotel to have good facilities with staff for whom nothing was too much trouble. I would thoroughly recommend this hotel if you want to stay in Swanage, it is definitely good value for money. We will almost certainly be back!

A late decision to have a weekend away with our 2yr old son in Swanage had me ringing around on a Friday afternoon trying to find hotel room. 5 calls down and I tried the Purbeck House Hotel. They had a family room available in the Louisa Lodge which we took. The hotel was ideally situated with beautiful gardens and...

We arrived at 5.30pm and collected the keys to our room, upon entering we saw empty wine and lemonade bottles, piles of wet towels and a sink full of crockery, the room had not been serviced, not a great start. We were given another room, which was clean and luckily for us much nicer than the first one which was...

We have been coming to stay here for over 15 years. It goes from strength to strength. Breakfast is tasty and the cleanliness of the rooms are very good - we stayed in the lodge and our room had a lovely sea view outdoor balcony. All the staff are really friendly and professional. Infact, we liked our stay soooo..much that...

Lovely staff, nice setting we would have preferred to stay in the main house rather than the lodge although it was clean and comfortable being given the option would have been nice. Very nice breakfast.
