Just got back from camping at Herston and have mixed feelings about the site. On arrival we were shown to our pitch and was happy with our location. We soon realised that our electric hook up was being used by a group in the next field where there was no electric. We unplugged their electric as we were told to...

Thank you for your comments, we welcome constructive critism and will act on it accordingly. We have ample electric hook ups with in our camp fields and we are sure that there would not have been an issue with your neighbours. We constantly monitor the level of litter and fouling throughout the camp fields, we are always on the prowl...

Good spot. Swanage a lovely place. Blessed with great weather. We had a hook-up camping pitch. Loos and showers a bit iffy. What we ALWAYS like is a good local pub which we had in the Royal Oak just up the road. Great landlady Rachel, good real ale, and some beauty locals who made us feel really welcome.

We stayed in a yurt for a long weekend, when we arrived it was pouring with rain and we were starting to wonder if we should leave and book into a hotel!! But soon changed our mind when we were greeted by a lovely lady who had already lit the log burner!! It was so warm and dry!! We headed...

Fab campsite and facilities. Well done to the staff who coped well with the busy carnival goers camping and getting wet! We highly recommend the Sunday carvery, loads of choice and really tender meat, we had one before heading into Swanage for the carnival, luckily the rain stopped by the time it started at 4!! We would love to come...

We had a pitch in one of the back fields. So this was a standard pitch with electric and not one of the superior pitches on the main site. This appears to be an important distinction. The site had a small shop which is open for around an hour or two twice a day which wasn't terribly convenient, and it...

Thank you for your comments, and note your remarks about the superior pitch as oppose to the standard grass pitch which you had booked. As you rightly pointed out there is a difference and of course a price differential aswell, presumably you did not wish to incur the extra cost of one of our superior pitches. The toilet and shower...

Spent last weekend there - great time - kids loved building a campfire under the stars and management let them - Well - tended pitch made putting the tent up easy - bar had jovial atmosphere with many locals - free hot showers make a welcome change! Nice hill views. All in all top stay.

We stayed in one of the wood-clad park homes and were thoroughly impressed inside and out. Well kitted out, lovely decking area and the hot tub was the highlight of the weekend. Left a phone charger behind, which the staff kindly arranged to have posted to me.

Shower blocks discusting! Water tap on pitch unusable. Old caravans appeared to be dumped and make shift second reception a joke (old van with tatty sofa in) We paid £30 a night the most we've ever paid and expected much more for our money. We have paid far less and had much better quality sites. Will never come again.

Thank you for your comments, however we are not sure that you are reviewing the campsite fairly. We have recently spent many thousands on completely renovating the shower and toilet block situated in the corner of the camp field, including brand new gas water heaters, showers and wc. We have checked all of our stand pipes throughout the site and...

Stayed at Herston last week, for a week. The staff are very friendly and can't do enough for you in the office and bar.Sunday carvary is amazing.Shower block needs some TLC,the cubicles need reprinting, due to mould on the walls. The shop on site is a disgrace,it's hardly ever open, and when the shop is open ,the assistant should be cleaning off the shelves and...
