Held a birthday party here and several of our friends stayed overnight. No corkage allowed and then they charge you £20 per bottle of £4 cava! The hotel is rundown with gaffer tape covering holes in the carpet and paint peeling off the walls. Staff were miserable and the rooms as cold as the people. I woke up freezing cold...

We had a lovely stay. The hotel has a beautiful feel, grand and yet cosy. The management were at pains to reassure us that they are improving the decor and facilities. Yet the hotel has such a lovely atmosphere. We will most definitely stay again and urge all who read this to do the same.

We travelled down from Wiltshire to see the firework display in Bournemouth, but due to the terrible weather decided against it, we had pre-booked a room for the night, on arrival we were made to feel welcome and given a quick tour of the hotel. The room was fine, nice and warm and clean, ok the carpet is worn and...

Unfortunately this did not carry on when shown the bedroom. The windows were old and the paint peeling and the catch to open the sash window missing. There was a huge...

Me and my husband stayed at the balmoral hotel for three nights in September for our wedding anniversary, the room was comfortable and had an on suite, the staff were all very friendly and the room was cleaned daily, we enjoyed our stay and would like to return again.

My wife and I have returned from a second short break at The Balmoral Hotel. We were last there in March this year and fell in love with the faded decor, run down and neglected grand Victorian hotel. The owner/proprietor's ambitions to restore the hotels to its former glory were ambitious and challenging. Well... we were delighted to discover that...

We were slightly concerned after reading some reviews, however the experience that we received was perfect. We arrived very late, however were greeted by a very friendly member of staff. He gave us a quick tour of the hotel and told us where to get breakfast etc. The room was dated, but we were prepared for this after reading the...
