Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Stayed here for 2 nights with a stag group. Ion was very easy to deal with while sorting the booking (we booked direct). Rooms were large, clean and well laid out. Nice big bar area with seating and pool table. Breakfast was good, bacon, eggs, sausages etc. Good location within a short walk of the centre of Bournemouth. Couldn’t really fault it. Only thing that could maybe be improved is the outside of the hotel which could maybe do with a freshen up but I’d always seen this on other reviews and the rest of the hotel made up for it. Would recommend.

Hotel's Favourite
To be honest I wasn’t quite sure what to expect at the The Celebrity Hotel but it really is great value for money and more than exceeded my expectations. We were meant to be staying at the sister hotel, The Grove, but no twin room was available when we arrived so the very apologetic receptionist moved us to The Celebrity. I stayed with a friend (we’re the wrong side of 50 😆) on a Monday night and could not fault it. The hotel is in a great location, close to the beach and the town. The staff in both hotels were very welcoming and helpful. We stayed in The Star Wars room which is a big twin room which was very clean and had everything you could need. Comfy beds, plenty of storage, full length mirrors, tea and coffee making facilities and a very powerful shower. The very reasonable rate included a lovely buffet breakfast including cereal, fresh fruit, a full fry and toast. The bar is open 24 hours a day and again is very reasonably priced. The Celebrity themed rooms may be a bit of a gimmick but don’t let this put you off - in our opinion it just added to the fun and makes the hotel far more memorable. When returning to Bournemouth I would definitely stay at The Celebrity or The Grove again. If you are looking for luxury then this is not the place for you but if you mate looking for a comfortable stay at a reasonable price then it’s just the job.

Many thanks, OnAir29879945501 for your fantastic and informative review, it is always a pleasure being appreciated this way and I have passed your lovely words to all the staff at Hotel Celebrity and The Grove Hotel, from the friendly receptionists to our hardworking housekeeping staff and chef. All the staff work in both hotels so, we will see you again, whichever hotel you will choose :-) and we all look forward to it! Kindest regards,

The hotel was advertised as dog friendly…it was dog tolerant. We had to eat in the separate bar and were not even given any cutlery. We aid an extra £20 per night for the dog but i am not sure why. There was not even a dog bowl out the front of the hotel. Our room was ok but very very hot and we had to have the fAn on all night (what a waste of money). The bathroom was nice and shower was good. Beds were comfortable. The good thing about it was its proximity to the beach and easy car parking. I would not return.

The most comfy bed I’ve ever slept in! Although was two singles pushed together, it was so lovely……. Stayed in the Elvis room, few bad points…..the room was so hot, even for February. The towel rail in bathroom heated the entire room to probably 30 degrees or more, even with windows open it was just too hot. Room was dated and lacked appeal. Someone had defaced Elvis’s face on one of the pictures. Not enough milks, and biscuits would’ve been nice, bathroom resembled a hospital bathroom, shower wasn’t great, although water was hot enough. Terrible view from window, and breakfast can only be described as mildly acceptable. We booked using a buyagift we received for Xmas, and had to pay £30 for two breakfasts and parking. My partner was okay with his, but I’m a little fussier. Was a buffet style, and barely warm. Staff were friendly, although restaurant staff looked a little bored. All staff said good morning and goodbye. Would probably stay again at some point, but not in that room…… but oh that bed ❤️ the four stars I’ve given are for the bed, if the bed hadn’t been so good, it would’ve been a 2 star review. Sorry 😞

Joke of a themed hotel a few pictures in your room doesn't make it an experience. Breakfast was buffet style with the tea making not working , noisy most of the night and you have to pay for parking , very run down and needing a lick of paint almost like a hostel

We had a party here for a family members birthday, and Roberto couldn’t have been more accommodating. All the staff are friendly and everyone enjoyed themselves. Bar prices are very reasonable as well. The room we stayed in was clean and comfortable too. Highly recommended

Great evening, amazing act and performers. Laughed so much all evening. Brilliant three course meal which catered for vegetarians (lovely vegetable curry!) Reasonable bar prices and great service. Staff keen to do anything to support and make stay brilliant. Decor is so British loved all the room names and memorabilia.

Great location but this hotel is a little tired but I guess this is reflected in the price. IMPORTANT…if you book a refurbished room it is good value for money. If you book a room that is not refurbished it is awful, horrible and I would avoid it like the plague. Make sure you get a refurbished room.

Friendly staff and a great location. There is a bar I can't comment on the restaurant as we ate out. We stayed in room 235 (Benny Hill). The bathroom looks fairly new but the bedroom area needs a makeover. The blind has a slat missing and part of another slat has been broken off. The room would benefit from a main ceiling light as it is very dim with only a few side lights. The bed was comfortable but the furniture is dated and chipped. In addition to the chipped furniture the wallpaper is damaged and is peeling off in places, there is also a patch of mould on the ceiling near the bathroom. -

Dear joburke1970, Thank you for sharing your feedback. We are glad you appreciated the great location and the friendly staff at Hotel Celebrity and sorry to hear your stay with us wasn't so great. The ensuite in room 235 has been recently refurbished to high standards and its double walk-in shower is very appreciated by our guests. The rest of the room is indeed in need of a makeover and we will get there, we are now refurbishing another room and it is nearly done. Thank you for your feedback about the main light, something we will definitely take into account when we refurbish the room in question. We genuinely hope you will give us another try when next in Bournemouth, our newly refurbished bedrooms are really comfortable and well though out in their layout and they are available for a small premium, they indeed provide great value for money. Thank you again for taking the time to share your experience with us. Kindest regards, Roberto

Lovely experience! I stayed here for one night. The staff were so nice. I got the Patrick Swayze room - very happy with that. The hotel has clearly been upgrading - the stairs were beautiful. My room itself was a bit dated, but I understand that they are in the process of doing them up. The bed though was very comfortable, and the price I paid very reasonable. Would definitely book again! It would be nice to see some British celebrities featured - maybe Martin Roberts or Judi Dench. Leading to my room it was mostly American actors, and I didn't see any home grown talent. I would definitely stay here again.

Thank you, Angela for the great feedback! We are delighted you had a lovely experience, had a comfortable stay and would book again :-) As you noticed, we are in the process of upgrading our rooms...our Angelina Jolie (room) is getting a full refurb right now and will look fab in a few weeks' time. We do have a wide selection of British celebrities: Adele, Jude Law, Rowan Atkinson, Hugh Grant, The Beatles and the Rolling Stones to name just a few, however we do love when our guests give us suggestions :-) For you next stay, to get even better value for money, give us a call direct on 01202 316 316 and you can have a refurbished room for a very little extra; one of our most popular room is our Davis Bowie room, or you can have a conformable refurbished room on the ground floor, we have three rooms fully dedicated to James Bond :-) Thank you again for sharing your experience with us, we look forward to welcoming you again. Kindest regards, Roberto
