Booked in advance but was unaware that they would Insist on payment in full + deposit of £50 on booking in, in spite of filling out all usual details and car registration. Then kept us in confinement at reception on departure until room checked for damage, before refund. Rooms basic, decor jaded, only coffee and herbal tea in room, no milk...

We stayed overnight at this hotel and had an enjoyable stay. There were lots of positives..friendly staff, the hotel was clean and tidy, lovely breakfast and also free parking. We enjoyed a swim and sauna, unfortunately the steam room was out of order and the jaccuzi was cold. There is also a gym and spa treatments available. (The spa treatments...

We always want a great bed to sleep in when we are away, the Queens had it in our double room on the 1st floor. The staff at reception when we arrived without a booking were ever so helpful and we were offered a cold drink from the water dispenser. Our room was spotless, had a TV, Tea making, shower...

My wife and I spent 4 days at the hotel on a Saga Music holiday. First the good news. The music was excellent - Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra at the Lighthouse in Poole, and a quartet of their players in the hotel, plus informative talks and performances by Peter Gravatt. These events and the Saga rep, Richard Elgar, were in the...

Dear UKanian With our guests who have a specific requirement for a bedroom being easily accessible, with a walk in shower and close to a lift, we should always be notified in advance so that we can meet the requests. The content of this correspondence would have been so different if you (like all the others who were in the...

Fair to say the hotel is showing its age and could do with some modernisation. However it is very clean, the food was excellent and all the staff could not do enough for you. Special mention to Norman on the waiting staff who looked after us all weekend, nothing was too much trouble. Swimming pool and spa very nice, the...

Dear Gumbo99 Thank you for taking the time to review your recent stay with us. I do like it when a colleague’s efforts are noted, so it is most pleasing to hear that Norman excelled. I welcome your feedback, as well, as regards the windows in the room. I am looking forward to greeting you in the future. Yours sincerely...

I have enjoyed many March weekends here since the mid 90s so I am being picky when I say I was surprised to find that they now charge 25p per item to re-stock the tea/coffee tray. I think that is penny-pinching. I also found the hotel slightly too hot throughout, especially in my bedroom where the radiator was OFF but...

Dear Pete F Thank you for taking the time to review your recent stay with us. It is nice to hear the word 'Spring' mentioned, as well as see the weather get warmer. With the teas and coffees, we offer a selection in our guest’s rooms on arrival and we replenish them daily. This means there are several drinks included...

Colonial type hotel with a lovely dining room and a great meal was had on Saturday evening. The breakfast was a typical buffet styled one with a great variety to choose from. We had a good swim in the spa and spent a while in the jacuzzi.

Dear dominic m Thank you for taking the time to review your recent stay with us. I am sorry if you had to wait longer than you should have done for bar food; it is freshly prepared in the kitchen and during busy times my colleagues should manage guest’s expectations better. This means that if it will take longer than...
