This hotel is one of those which can take you back to an earlier era. It was clean, warm and had excellent service. However, it could do with updating. The bathroom in my room was a little small and I hate those soap dispensers on the wall - whatever happened to the complimentary bottles, I guess cost cutting to improve...

Stayed one night on a groupon deal which we have done a couple of times before. On check in the receptionist that checked us in was more interested in the other receptionist dealing with another customer than us. Our room this time was under pavement level and was very claustrophobic. The bathroom door handle had screws missing. There was an...

Ok, so I'll admit that this was a bargin at £50 per night including breakfast and my expectations weren't set very high but I was hoping for something a bit better. On the positive side the bed was very comfortable. Unfortunately that didn't make up for the shower that flooded the bath room, cold breakfast, terrible coffee and awful tea....

This is undoubtedly a hotel that is suffering from old age and in dire need of updating in many ways. The heating and plumbing is prehistoric and the rooms have had their day in terms of decor......and yet...the staff were marvellous and there is still a charm and feel of grandeur about the place. Avoid hotel parking though as it...

This was bought as a gift. The hotel is well placed with only a short walk to the beach and shops. We walked from the station which was about 20 minutes. The hotel reception area and downstairs rooms were well appointed and pleasant. The bedrooms are tired. The furniture is dated and tired. Although our room overlooked the main road...
