Do not go to this hotel. Listed as 2 star l would rate it at zero. The only good thing was the lovely staff. I would say it's "not fit for purpose". I complained to Alfa Travel 3 weeks ago, but haven't had a reply. I'm now going to contact ABTA . I have e been traveling with Alfa for...

We pride our selves on our warm welcome so I am surprised you found the staff rude, it can seem a little chaotic when 50 people arrive at the same time but it only takes is about 15 minutes to get everyone sorted out and in that time we are busy and under pressure, - I am sorry if this...

Bit sad looking for a hotel, staff not that interested in customers, food not really tasty, bedrooms rather dated Took longer than the 10-15 mins to walk to the sea, only joy was it was not hilly. Weather was the best bit, the sunny was warm and out all day

We are a characterful hotel and very luck to be one of the few hotels in Torquay to be on the flat, the stroll down to the sea is especially nice if you go through the Abbey Gardens. Our guests are our priority and I am sorry you felt slighted. We pride ourselves on our friendly approach and I am...

Staff impersonal. Decor dated at best. Smells stale. No hot water or water pressure. Had to boil and a kettle so my wife could wash her hair. Bar was not available until after 10pm and then laughable. Breakfast only available for half an hour. I missed that which apparantly was a God send. 30 mins walk from town. I can...

Sorry you found our staff impersonal, they are know for their friendliness. People come back simply because they like the family atmosphere we create. Hot water is always available at the hotel, no one has had to boil a kettle before now. Perhaps you can let me know what room you were in? We have 2 bars and if we...

Upon arrival we noticed the reception area was absolutely filthy. The area consisted of a red satin type seating which was absolutely filthy and in dire need of a trip to the tip. It was covered, and imean COVERED in what appeared to be urine stains. My partner looked at me and gasped. However we gave the bancourt the benefit...

I visited for a friends wedding. The garden had dog poo on the grass which we had to ask to be picked up. They were unable to open the doors to let a bit of cool air into the garden as the guy with the keys hadn't arrived. Luckily it didn't ruin a beautiful day and they let me leave...

I am sorry you had a disappointing stay at the Bancourt. I do point out to people as they come in that there is a lift at the side of them, they do not have to struggle up the stairs. We do not provide porterage, but if anyone is having difficulty then please just ask the reception staff. When you...
