Took up their 3 night dinner, bed and breakfast deal. Food was superb and the staff very friendly. Rooms could do with a bit of TLC. Would recommend paying the extra £10 for a garden view room (away from the kitchen).

We booked a tree-day Valentine break at the Palace. This lovely Victorian hotel is delightful and the facilities first class, though a bit aged. The food was good and well presented. The service was first class, with a large number of waiters/ess and a Maitre di in attendance, at the large and elegant restaurant, every morning and evening. Excellent value...

Attended a day's conference that included lunch and coffee breaks. I was very impressed with the choice of hot and/or cold lunches. Had them both and they were excellent. The coffee breaks were right on time and most welcome. Hotel reception extremely helpful with organising a cab to the train station.

Went here a few weeks ago for a carvery which must admit am not really keen on so was surprised with the quality of the meats which were not the normal thinly sliced tasteless cuts I've had elsewhere. There was plenty of choice and the assistant filled the plate with everything himself without me having to bother.it's a large dining...

Staying at this stately old hotel is a great experience. The restaurant is well worth a visit, not only for the good food, but also for the atmosphere - the room is huge with high ceilings and extensive views over the fine gardens. The rooms vary: ours for which we paid a supplement, had a good view, but a narrower...

Stayed as part of a party, the hotel is very dated and is in need of a refit. The rooms are from the 70's and have peeling wallpaper and a bit of damp. The shower is poor and the bathroom had very bad tilling and no plugs that were still connected. The rest of the hotel is a little better...

We recently attended and church weekend away and whilst on first view the hotel is dated, we had a great time. Our room was clean and comfortable. We did have a light bulb blow but this was sorted in an efficient manner. The menu was set but on the whole the quality of the food while serving over 250 people...

Cold, unfriendly Sunday in February! What on earth to do to cheer oneself up? Take friends and book in for lunch at The Palace where the sizeable dining room is elegantly laid out with nice table linen, a carvery of generous joints and array of excellent vegetables, yorkshire puddings the size of a small loaf and thick tasty gravy. All...

Business in January had me looking for hotels and having tried to book at their sister hotel only to find their internet was not working they offered me the last room at The Palace hotel which turned out to be a junior suite. I have been offered suites at hotels before which often felt like nothing special but this room...

We had a wonderful time at the palace. Thee kids thoroughly enjoyed themselves. The hotels location is great with a short walk down through the immaculate gardens to a lovely pebbled cove, a nice walk or short bus trip into Torquay. Lots of parking on site. We used the swimming pool twice and would have loved to escaped the kids...
