Had a couple of nights in the Toorak before we transferred to the Derwent. The hotel links up with the other 3 hotels and bar. You have to eat in the same hotel but apart from that you are free to use any of the other facilities. There is a lot to explore, lots of different bars

The Toorak is a rambling old hotel linked to others and sharing amenities. We were there for a bowling week, which was great fun. The hotel itself is in need of a bit of TLC, the lift was broken, the curtains were hanging off the poles and generally it needed a bit of attention.

Dear Leslie, Thank you for your very kind review and I am glad to hear that you and your team had a nice stay with us. I will pass your very kind comments on to the bowls department and those involved at the hotel. I am glad that you are looking at returning next year, we are going to be adding more entertainment over at the hotel for your break next year so there will be no issues with getting across the complex. Thank you for taking the time to offer your feedback and we look forward to welcoming you back next year. Thanks Ben

We stayed in room 121, the view wasn't as good as we thought it was going to be as we paid extra for a view so that was a let down. The Hotel isn't signposted well at all, parking not great. The outside and inside of the hotels need a massive refurbishment and redecorating. The

Dear Amy, Thank you for offering your very extensive review I can see that there was some very good and some bad points about your stay. I will review all of your points and ensure that the areas that were not so good do not happen again. I am not sure where the music was coming from until 3am that you heard as there was no music on in the hotel after 11.30pm when the function finished. I would like to offer you a discounted rate on a future stay to see if we can amends from your birthday weekend. Please get in touch with me personally and I will happily make your booking if you would like to come back. braven@tlh.co.uk Best wishes - Ben Raven

The food is excellent in quality and presentation. There is on site parking and you can park in any car park on site, I found it best to go to one of the upper car parks for the Derwent/ Carlton where there were more spaces. Plenty of boat trips from Paignton and Torquay harbours.

Difficult to answer because we only stayed in the Toorak, Toorak probably has more toddlers and senior citizens (earlier breakfast opening time, further from the main entertainment so quieter). Carlton is very near to the main bistro/bar area, swimming pool complex so probably a bit noisier.
