Lovely hotel. The outside of the building doesn't do it any justification to the inside. Initially on entry it felt like we walked into a palace. Kingsize bedroom was lovely but felt the decor was a bit dated but very clean. The balcony decor looked tired but the views were fantastic. Food and service very good. Staff very smart, efficient and...

Went down to Torquay with my husband and a friend to go to a funeral. Since the post funeral gathering was to be held at the Imperial, we booked rooms for the night. The hotel is as others have said, old fashioned but was quite charming and in a lovely location. Yes parking is £7 per night but as we...

We stayed just one night during the Tall Ships Race and it was a good place to be as there was a parade of yachts and we had a great view from our balcony. The hotel is in need of a major refurbishment but we have stayed here in the past and it is showing signs of improvement under new...

First of all, may I say that I very rarely write a poor review but I feel obliged to on this occasion as I was disappointed. After doing a little research on all the ‘grand’ hotels in Torquay I chose the Imperial to have an afternoon tea to celebrate a special event with my husband. I’d previously called in when...

I have been to this hotel a few times previously, mainly as a contractor carrying out various jobs. I have been able to get booked in to stay overnight during my working visits. That has the advantage in that you get to see both sides, that is the backstage as well as the customer facing aspects. Although some of the...

Lovely hotel with fantastic views over Torquay. If you are looking for a Modern Hotel this is not for you. However although dated, it is elegant , clean and very welcoming. Would recommend a Sea View Room as it is worth the price.
