On arrival at hotel booking system (manual) did not appear to work as we were greeted by a receptionist who said she was not aware that we had booked an extra night - this had happened to her three times today!! Lift was very small and old fashioned. Booked for three nights and paid for two in advance - no...

Yes we are proud that we still manage to maintain the personal touch witrh our bookings, but apologise when an occassional mistake is made as we did to you when you arrived. All systems haved their gliches. The lift carries four people and is average for a medium sized 2 star hotel. I know of several hotels locally with 3...

When my friend and I arrived at the Kistor Hotel, our first impressions were of shock horror!!!! The decor was very dated, the carpets were tread-bare and when we saw our hotel room was disgusting dirty!!! filthy window casements and the extractor fan in the bathroom was covered in dirt and dust!!!! We immediately asked to be moved to a cleaner...

Dear Grumpyoldwoman, I am dismayed by your review and whilst I agree with some of your statements I really must protest about first impressions! The whole of the front entrance and walls, steps, fountain, lawns etc are new and designed to give the wow factor. Your room I agree! It is as big a disappointment to me as it was...

Stayed a single night as we have done regularly over a number of years. Hotel is well situated and our room was decent enough. Some refurbishment is in progress I believe, and is necessary in some areas. Breakfast is a bit of a cattle market with communal tables and the food itself very basic. Our disappointment came when we checked...

Yes, I too am disappointed and concerned! Not so much about our staff but by the inference and tone of this review. The member of staff responsible for this room has worked here for the best part of twenty years and she recieves many tips and praise from guests. We have never before had cause to question her integrity regarding missing...

There have been some recent inprovements, the pink fountain resturant and bars, with the friendlyness of all the staff where nothing was to much...

Thank you for such a glowing review. The two star rating I know not to be your overall rating as it shows but never mind! We none the less appreciate the time you spent to write the report and look forward to welcoming you back again soon for more laughs!

Me and my wife stayed at the Kistor for a three night weekend stay we had stayed the previous year. We found the hotel to have a very friendly atmosphere from the receptionist right through the staff to the cleaners. Everyone was always happy and pleasant the room could do with a refurb it was a bit like being in...

Thank you for a great review! I am sorry that you were disappointed with the size of your room we'll make sure you get a larger one next time. It'll probably be one that has benefitted from being redecorated too. See you soon!

Me and my family have just come back from a break in torquay, we stayed at The nethway hotel which was very good, but we went out every evening for our entertainment to the kistor hotel. The kistor hotel is situated on the sea front and offers a happy hour between 8pm and 9pm, Pint of beer £1.90 and house...
