5:30pm looking for somewhere to eat - typical pub menu and the specials looked ok. Ordered starters - they were ok. Mains fish & chips - just about average and a seafood lasagne which was the most expensive on the menu at £13 plus consisted of 1 prawn, 1 bite size piece of salmon, 1 small sheet of lasagne and...

Having been told that the hotel had turned guests away the previous evening, we were advised to book a table for an evening meal. We requested a table in the restaurant, only to be told the restaurant was only open on Sunday's. We then reserved a table in the bar, however on arrival at allocated time, someone else was at...

Evening meal in the bar of this traditional coaching house. Reasonably varied menu and specials good portion sizes, nice atmosphere and good beer. Staff were friendly. Happy with our visit overall although there are better places to eat in Lynton.

Stayed with my dog for a week at the end of June. It was extremely welcoming to a solo visitor and I was made to feel very comfortable. I ate in the bar so I could have my dog with me and the food was very good. My only reason for not giving this 5* was that the bed wasn't...

Just got back from a weekend away in Lynton. The Crown Hotel is a little gem. The bar has a wonderful atmosphere with a mixture of friendly locals and visitors. The food is delicious and the rooms lovely. Well worth a visit, we will definitely be back

Went for a drink and bar meal. Cosy bar which had the usual pub feel. Not the pubs fault but it was difficult to get close to bar to order because of rather loud, bar blockers who made no attempt to move. Lady behind the bar was friendly and efficient. Ordered gammon and a chicken chasseur. The gammon was fairly...

We had not planned to stay in Lynton but found it so charming we wanted time to explore some more. The Crown had usefully had a board outside saying they had vacancies and the price which was about the going rate for the area. The room or should I say suite was was excellent, four poster, bath with very hot...
