I stayed at this hotel to attend a wedding in the area. Of the hotels on offer, I purposely picked a Premier, because I know what to expect. This particular one was across the road from the station I arrived at. The hotel is ok, but requires updating. Carpets and furnishings etc. I also found the lighting poor in one section of the room. The bathroom was the best bit! Modern, clean and very spacious. This was my first time using an accessible room for the lowered bath and I was very pleased. The staff was lovely and the location is excellent for buses, taxis and trains. Overall a little tired in decor and building, but I would stay again if I went back to Exeter. In the range of budget hotels, I know what to expect in a Premier and some of the newer ones are very nice indeed. The staff coped very well when large numbers of people suddenly appeared in reception after the train lines flooded and there were no trains.

My partner and I stayed a few nights in Polperro then stayed for a couple of nights here in advance of meeting my children off the train in Exeter. No parking at this hotel but we parked in the station car park opposite, no issues. Friendly staff all throughout the hotel and the room was as you would expect (although I do think it wasn’t any cleaner than pre-COVID times and the rooms are becoming a little tired). We had drinks in the restaurant one night and ate in the restaurant the other night, food was nice, had burger to eat and food reasonably priced.

Directly opposite the train station, with a regular bus service to the town centre, this Premier Inn provides a handy location with the standards expected from the group. Good service despite the current circumstances involving shortages of staff/supplies was evident in the handling of guests.

We always stay at the Premier Inn Exeter st David's because its position for us from the train station is superb. The staff who work here are brilliant they always chatting to us and make us feel at home. If there is one thing they could improve on would be for the lighter eaters we think there could be a light bites menu for something like eggs on toast or even just toast. The rooms here well i can only talk about the room we stayed in at it was roomy, light , and very comfortable beds. Great stay as always well done staff and Premier Inn .

First: I was cheated over the room price, which went up £40 between on-line pricing and pressing "Book Now". when I complained, the hotel "manager" denied responsibility for pricing, but refused me any link to those who set the prices. Secondly: when I arrived (1830hrs Friday) there was nobody at check-in. only two staff in the hotel - bar steward and a cook - trying to do everything. Thirdly: The dismal room showed evidence of a long-term water leak in the sink/toilet area. General signs of cost-cutting at the expense of guest comfort. - slow soap dispensing - marginally hot shower- limited tea-bag provision. Summary: Sub-Travelodge quality at much higher prices. I have used Premier Inn before and now realise that the Premier Inn standard varied widely - this hotel being the worst so far. Poor value, poor comfort
