We had lunch at The Blue Ball today and I am sad to say that the service was awful and food terrible. I was looking forward to my plaice with muscles which was one of the most expensive things on the menu but was extremely disappointed! The fish was mushy and then I had to remove what looked like guts...

Exce, llent meal ,great service and atmosphere good home cooked food ,would recommend lunch ,something for everyone.Only thing I would say it could do with a bit of a makeover apart from that it was faultless.

We are usually apprehensive when passing an extensive hostelry situated on a main tourist route, so were pleasantly surprised to be recommended about the Blue Ball having arrived at Exmouth (from Brighton). BUT knowing its location, we decided to take the plunge, and returned the following evening (In spite of a twenty minute journey). We were not disappointed. There was...

We eat here fairly regularly and the food is always great, and the beer is good too Excellent for any size group of people. Only warning is- don't go if there is a Rugby match on and you don't like Rugby, as gets very busy!!

This is the second family birthday party we have attended over the last few years ,and I must say ,being a thatched inn and in very lovely countryside ,we've had a thoroughly good and relaxing time . The waiters were attentive and the food was fine and a good choice , I have recommended The Blue Ball Inn to many...

We booked out table for 6.00pm as we had young children with us. The menu has a good mix of meals and plenty to choose from. I had a steak which was cooked perfectly and very tender also. The rest of our group also said their. Meal was most enjoyable. The service was a little slow, but not so slow...

On this occasion I went for lunch with some girl friends, I have been before as a family or in a big party and have eaten in the extension at the back which is quite bright and airy, this time we were seated in the bar area. The chairs were well past their sell by date with stuffing coming out...

Stayed here to break our journey and had a great evening. The food was lovely, the room really comfortable with some nice touches , the shower was quite spacious and the staff all friendly and helpful. Really good value overall as so close to M5.

A great family dinner with friends here. Food was delicious and the staff were not fussed by the carnage created by 4 under 5s running around like bunny rabbits. Lots of space outside for the wee ones to burn off energy after a generous helping of ice cream.
