I've been to St Mawes many times, usually staying in a caravan just up the road. However, this was a reminiscence trip with my husband and family and we found Nearwater to stay in. What a delight. Tom and Amelia are very attentive, the breakfasts are great and the rooms are just superb. Hopefully, we'll go back to St Mawes...

We were welcomed on arrival with a pot of tea and slices of the most delicious whisky fruit cake. Our room was attractively furnished with a very comfortable bed, quality linens and large fluffy towels. We enjoyed an easy evening walk to the estuary shore, the harbour and the castle, and then to 'The Rising Sun' for most excellent fish...

We stayed two nights, we were greated well by Tim on our arrival. We stayed in 'Percuil' - the room we felt would have been nicer if it had been a bit bigger, and did not have much of a view. OK stay - BUT there was a man who played the Mandolin outside our window until after 11pm (...

I am sorry about the Mandolin at 23:00, we did have a word with our other guest about playing late at night but hadn't realised this guest thought a complete veto was necessary! The mandolin playing guest was actually giving a concert on the Saturday night in St Mawes so was rehearsing. Regards the view, we advertise the Percuil room...

A warm welcome from Amelia our host. Friendly and extremely helpful. Rooms are great. Breakfasts are excellent. If you come on the ferry it's a little walk to Nearwater. But I would say it is worth it!

We stayed here for a friends wedding and from the introduction to the lovely breakfasts we loved everything about our stay. The room was very nice and the location is perfect. The hosts are were very sweet, making us some lovely mint tea with mint picked from the garden! If you ever need to visit I would highly recommend nearwater!

We're a couple in our early 30s, visiting St Mawes for a few days of peace and quiet, seaside activities and walks, good food etc. We got all that and more thanks to our choice of accommodation - Nearwater is beautifully looked after, we took the smallest room which was still a very decent size and the decor is gorgeous....

After a long journey to St Mawes, we arrived around 2100. We were left a lovely little note to show us to our room. The room was lovely and clean and breakfast in the morning was freshly cooked with local produce. The B & B is literally a 5-10 min walk into St Mawes, Tim and Amelia were great hosts...

Lovely rooms and comfortable beds (there were 3 of us & we had 2 en-suite rooms) but no attention given to a request to rectify a slowly draining, partly blocked sink in one bathroom, nor to a request for a refill of the liquid soap dispenser in the other bathroom. The breakfast 'special' was 'homemade' granola (in a commercial packet...

We are very sorry that your experience was not as good as you expected. To respond to your comments. 1) We did not have any drain clear in to unblock the sink but when you mentioned it I ordered some and it arrived the next day (after you left). 2) The homemade granola did run out during your stay and...

Amelia and Tim are great hosts and their breakfasts are quite superb! The house is well located within 5 mins walk of the restaurants and shops of St Mawes. Bedroom was excellent with a lovely walk in shower. Parking was also easy which is important in this town.

We spent five nights at Nearwater recently. The rooms are spotless, the beds are incredibly comfortable, our host and hostess were very friendly and breakfast was great. We did have a glitch on arrival with our booking - a misunderstanding between our booking agent and Nearwater - and it was resolved for us. Highly recommend.
