Met several family and friends for dinner and drinks the day before a family wedding. Dined in Captain's Table upstairs. Great food and service, extensive menu. Mind the low ceilings! After, down to the pub for classic (but crowded) pub experience. Great service, nice selection of beverages.

Great food, reasonably priced. Loved the mackerel pate and pollock. Friendly helpful staff...and great location on the quayside. Only criticism is the large number of people (including locals/off duty staff) who stand drinking smoking in the doorway...unpleasant to walk through... And I really don't appreciate dirty looks every time I walked through...simply rude and inconsiderate.

Proper traditional pub with character. Good food locally sourced. Real ale that's local. Cider and a good selection of rum. Great in the evenings or during the day. Staff are friendly and welcoming. Sit out the front have a beer with friends and watch the world go by, or just have a quick pint before carrying on shopping. Worth a...

Proper traditional pub, wide range of beers, friendly staff and good menu. Catch of the day was excellent and served promptly. A really good place for a Sunday afternoon lunch and beers. Small terrace outside.

Discovered the sloop inn last year and returned this year. Welcome and service all very good but what a let down on the meal. Chicken tikka masala, well rice and a sauce (far from tikka masala as India) and plain unmarinated chicken pieces heated up in the sauce. Presentation was good which made my disappointment even more so. It's not...

Ok we are locals and go here often. Beer prices have increased a bit which is why its not 5 stars but then again businesses in st ives have been hammered by the increase in business rates and you have to pay them somehow. Staff here get a bit of a hammering in thek summer. This is a small old...

Went here for a lunch snack and drink after visiting the shops and harbour at st ives. The pub dates back to 1312 and it is lovely and atmospheric plus has seating outside which we were amazed to find a table...very lucky! My son found his love of cheesy chips here plus one special member of staff gave us a...

Arrived with a friend at lunch time on a very busy Easter holiday 2017, sat outside in the sun, food brought outside to us. Still excellent fresh fish and accompaniments despite many customers... love the Sloop!!
