The hotel rooms are above the pub which is perfectly placed to get to beaches and shops of St Ives. Our room was on the top floor (there's no lift) it was very clean and bed was very comfortable. Shower in the bathroom was excellent too. Generous free toiletries and tea / coffee making equipment provided. Breakfast was superb, served...

Nice B&B and the experience was a positive one in general but there's no parking...arrgh! Lugging bags from a car 10 minutes away was a pain. It does say there's no parking when you book but I failed to spot it (epic fail). There is pay and display nearby but that obviously increases the cost of your stay. Other than...

Fantastic service in this delightful hotel. Nothing too much trouble. Very clean room, deliciously coffee at breakfast and good atmosphere in throughout. If you are over 70 - and I am - ask for room 9 or 10. Fewer stairs...

A warm welcome, lovely staff. Room was very clean. The breakfast was as good as any that you would get in a much larger hotel, everything you need was available and the full English was freshly cooked. Although we didn't eat lunch or evening meal in the bar, the menu looked great, much better than advertised on the website. There...

On a short-break to St Ives, the Queens was recommended for dinner by a former work colleague and his wife, who moved to Mousehole ten years ago, and who met with us for post-dinner drinks. The recommendation was well made; on a drizzle-laden February Monday evening we received a warm welcome and enjoyed simple but excellent ham, egg and chips,...

As sporadic visitors to the area we often find that the quality of places changes between visits. Not The Queens - this is a great friendly pub that serves a very decent pint and has a good selection of local (and not so local) spirits (the gin especially)

We stayed here for two nights on an anniversary trip. Loved staying at a pub. Our room was small, but comfortable and clean. Breakfast was included, allowing us to have cereal/fruit/yogurt or opt for a full English breakfast which was delicious. Staff was very kind and helpful. Would definitely stay here again!

Following a mix up elsewhere with a reservation, we ended up here for dinner on my 60th birthday, five adults and a six month old baby. Well, I think it was meant to be as the whole evening was great. Food was excellent, as was the beer and wine, and it just seemed a very friendly place. However, what made...

We didnt stay in the hotel but we popped in for a 'quick' drink Friday night and ended up having a couple. Lovely atmosphere, not too busy, happy staff and my kind of decoration (industrial/country pub)- Then we had a fab meal on the Saturday night. Gorgeously cooked Rib-eye steak with home cooked chips and the most amazing blue cheese...

We tried the Queens last year and liked it, so we visited them this time and its still very good, Mismatched chairs, stripped wood tables, comfy sofas, eccentric decoration, dog friendly kind of place. Comfortable and easy going. Good range of drinks. Friendly staff.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The Queen's Hotel is a late-Georgian, three-story building in the heart of picturesque St Ives. 5 mins from the harbour and beaches, we have ten en-suite bedrooms, which have been redecorated with vintage furniture and Cornish artwork hanging on the freshly painted white walls, plus sparkling new bathrooms with new showers. Downstairs is a relaxed and friendly bar with delicious pub food that was awarded an AA rosette in 2011. Everything is prepared on the premises - the menu is chalked up on the board daily using the finest local, seasonal ingredients Cornwall has to offer. Bread baked daily. Homemade ice-cream. Local beers. Warming fire. Children are very welcome: upstairs a camp bed and a travel cot are available to borrow, all windows have black-out blinds; downstairs there are boardgames + toys in the light and airy bar, baby-changing, and children's portions available. The harbour front and Fore Street are under five minutes walk away. Selected by Alastair Sawdays. ... more   less
