My friend and I have just returned from our trip to Newquay. We booked into Reef Island slightly last minute, although we were a little concerned having only ever stayed in b&bs/apartments / hotels we were both really happy with the choice we'd made. We originally showed up at the sister site and were told to drive down. This lodge...

Hi Yasmin J. Thank you very much for your review and we are pleased that you and your friends enjoyed your stay. Both Reef Surf Lodge and Reef Surf Island have recently been taken over by a new General Manager (Myself). We have made some changes to both lodges and strive to achieve the ultimate levels in cleanliness and guest...

We have stayed at both lodges several times over the course of 3 years. The last experience was the worst of all of them. The prices have doubled in the last year and the service has gone down hill. It's difficult to know where to begin. Well let's start with the negatives that have been consistent on every trip. There...

Stayed at the Reef Surf Island in Newquay for one night during Boardmasters festival weekend. Firstly the staff member on duty during our stay was really friendly and helpful. After reading review about this lodge I was expecting a box room with no space to move, I was pleasently suprised. A nice sized room with lots of beds, a tele,...

Had to wait for staff to come from the other facility for check in, not ideal after a 9 hour drive on a hot day. The advertised bar and breakfasts weren't available. No staff on site. On checkout I was asked to bring my keys up to the other facility or I'd have to wait half an hour. I left...

Room for 6 people very cramped. Bathroom smart and clean. Tv was broken and radio was intermittent. On arrival nobody on reception and place was all locked up so called 4 numbers on front door. A man came out of building and advised me to walk up to the other hotel to check in...Great if I wasn't carrying all my...

We stayed here as a group of 40 and had a great time. Friendly staff and helpful. Some rooms slightly cramped although mine was large and spacious. Good storage for boards and wetsuits too. One problem that the showers were quite cold after the first night and would have appreciated a self catering room for hot tea and snacks. Also...

Please, please, please don't take any notice of their glossy website. I think it's fair to say it doesn't actually represent reality! To start on a positive note the new manager does seem intent on turning things around as the lodge is in a transitional period after changing owners but it is clearly at rock bottom at the moment. Things...

i have been to Newquay many times and this is by far the worst place i have stayed. On arrival we were told we were in the wrong building, we were in supposed to be in the hostel around the corner. Arriving there the security guard attempted to check us in, giving us a key to a room that was...

Had my stag do here this past weekend, and was very pleased with this place. The rooms were clean with TV and CD Player, the shower was good and the beds were comfy. Only thing was the bar was closed and we weren't allowed to use it to have 17 of us have pre night out drinks, but that was...
