This was our third trip to a Leisureplex hotel in the last 12 months and we found it to be every bit as good as the first two. The staff were brilliant, the room was a little small but kept absolutely clean and tidy for us and the meals were decent and well served. We are unable to criticise anything...

This was my second visit to the Madeira hotel. This time I was blessed with fine, warm weather. To sit in the bar with a drink at 5pm looking out at an ever changing seascape is a real treat for someone living in outer London. This hotel is closing at the end of the season so this will be my...

Needed a hotel at the last minute without spending too much and this fitted the bill. Basic room that is decorated and furnished like the 80s but it was very clean. Staff were friendly. Hotel seemed a favourite for the over 60s coach trippers. Check in process was labourious and slow. Breakfast was not at all great - I didnt...

Stayed a couple of weeks ago with Alfa Travel. Excellent hotel, great staff and manager and a view to die for. A great shame that finances dictate that it will be closed at the end of the season - if only all the staff could transfer to a new Leisureplex hotel in the same area!

I was visiting family in Falmouth and just needed a room so I stayed at the Madeira for four nights on a room only basis and didn't use any of the hotel facilities. The hotel does seem to cater mainly for coach parties but my room was very comfortable and clean, the shower was great, beautiful sea view from the...

A coach party hotel full of old people. I suspect its ideal for the target market, but not a travellers hotel. The decor, layout and standards are definitely very old fashioned and tired. The staff were friendly and helpful, the rooms basic but comfortable but the whole set up us designed for groups of old people (and we're talking octogenarians...

I have stayed at the Madeira many times in the past, both on Alfa Coach tours and as Self Drive bookings. As always all the staff were welcoming and as helpful as possible in all respects. The food was varied, well cooked and attractively presented. Room spotlessly clean and serviced daily. The en-suite bathroom had a beautiful shower, with safety...
