We stayed for two nights, staff very friendly and helpful. We had dinner in the hotel on our first night, great food and wine, both reasonably priced. Rooms are modern, clean and tidy, not very big but suited our needs perfectly. The fridge in the room is a nice touch, to keep the wine cool - particularly as current restrictions meant pubs closed at 10pm. Chester is a 15 min walk away. There are some nice little pubs and restaurants just up the road in Hoole. I would recommend Made in Italy, awesome food. Breakfast in the hotel was standard, nothing fantastic, but started the day off well and was included in the price, so all good! All in all a great little hotel and bar/restaurant.

Stayed at the Bawn Lodge for 1 night with my husband. From the moment we arrived to the minute we left everything was excellent! The staff were friendly and couldn't do enough for us, especially Kate who went the extra mile by organising a taxi for us into the city centre! The room was clean and had everything you would need! The breakfast was good quality! And all the extra measures put in place were well thought through! We will definitely be returning in the future!

We picked Bawn Lodge for a 2 night city break as it was offering free cancellations up until 2 days prior to travel and with the current covid-19 conditions I didn't want to be committed to travelling if it wasn't safe. Having said that, I am please I picked Bawn Lodge. The staff were fantastic. I phoned prior to travel to see if I needed to take anything additional and they took the time to explain all of the new measures they had put into place which was very reassuring. The staff were also great throughout our stay. They even took the time to fetch milk for me as I am lactose and soya intolerant, bringing two cartons, one for the room and one for breakfast. Breakfast was table service only, but you booked a time slot to ensure that not everybody came down at the same time, allowing staff to manage the numbers in breakfast at a time. There was plenty of choice and food was good. The room wasn't cleaned during our stay as we were only staying two nights and this prevented risk to staff and guests by having staff enter the room. However on our return from our day out, a bag was left outside the room with fresh towels and replacement tea and coffee ensuring that each room was well supplied with everything they may need. I was apprehensive about staying away with the current conditions, however I can say that Bawn Lodge met all of my requirements, was fabulous value for money and put my mind at ease. I would definitely recommended the Bawn Lodge to anyone looking for a base to explore Chester from. Thank you for making it a great break.

Visited midweek for a short break in Chester. Hotel is well placed just 15 mins walk into the city. Rooms are modern and on the small side with everything you need. Not as clean as expected during COVID times with hairs found in the bathroom on arrival. Bar was modern and a good selection of drinks. Breakfast disappointing with hard eggs, microwaved mushy beans and sub par selection. Staff were friendly and accommodating to hotel guests when the pub was busy. Overall a nice place and just a well made breakfast away from staying again.

Stayed from Monday 7th. Sept. until Friday 11th. Sept. Lodge very nice, clean and staff very good. Breakfasts very good and meals on an evening were very good. Lodge is quite close to city centre (approx 10 min walk) and also well placed for Chester zoo (about 10 min. drive). Have really enjoyed our stay and if in future were to visit Chester again would definitely stay at Bawn lodge. If I were to give points on a scale of 1 to 10 this would be a definite 10. Due to covid restrictions this lodge has put safety on top of their list and felt safe while staying there.
