Window shopping or mountain hopping? However you get your kicks, the Premier Inn Hotel Chester Central North is the perfect place to stay. We're in a lovely quiet location, close to the historic city walls, but with great transport links to the big cities and the big countryside of Snowdonia. See the monkeys in Europe's largest orang-utan enclosure at Chester Zoo. Or monkey around in one of the UK's biggest outdoor playgrounds, Snowdonia National Park. Follow the horses at Chester Race Course, or find some thoroughbred bargains wandering the historic streets of Chester.

Stayed for 2 nights in April 2021. During Covid it is only open for those who are visiting for allowed reasons and this includes there being no room cleaning mid-stay (not really an issue on a 2-night stay) and the adjacent pub where I presume you would normally have meals being closed. Quite a dowdy appearance externally and the rooms don't have baths which was unusual in my experience but the shower was large and of good quality. The room itself was missing the usual draws for clothes and bedside cabinets. The new addition of bedside USB chargers in the light sockets are good but only 1 was working which is an issue I had seen at other Premier Inns (Room 6). Parking was free and accessible and access being on a roundabout no issue. Bed quality was good as ever as well as TV and Tea/Coffee facilities. Even though it is located between a Morrisons and a roundabout we had no issues with noise. Just quite small rooms and low spec compared to other premier inns. Sanitiser wasn't topped up at the entrance dispenser on the days we were there.

I use premier inn quite often and found this hotel to be totally lacking. For a so called premier room is was nothing premier about it. Its your bog standard room nothing that you wouldn't get in a normal premier in hotel. So do not think your paying for extra service you may as well go the the central ones and it be cheaper. The bathroom you could barely turn around in with a shower you couldn't access unless the door was fully closed. The bed was terrible both me and my husband had very bad backs. My husband has sleep apnoea and requires a mask to sleep and breath the room has only two plug sockets near the tv nothing next to the bed, So we had to go out and buy an extension lead so my husband could breath at night. The walls are very thin as well every time some one passed down the corridor or opened a door down the corridor it could be heard in the room. I will say that the staff was very very nice except for the lady in the back room coughing her guts up that did not fill me with joy. when we first entered. All other times they where brilliant understanding and accommodating when needed. It is very close to the zoo but its less then 2 miles to zoo and less than 2 miles to Chester city. There is also a morrisons next door for food and petrol.

Hi there Thanks for taking the time to share your review. It's a shame to read of your disappointment with the Premier Plus room and that you found the bed to be uncomfortable. I'm also sorry to see you were disturbed by other guests during the night, however it's nice to hear you found most of the team to be friendly and accommodating. I've raised your comments with the Hotel Manager so they can pick this up and they'll see what can be done to improve on your experience moving forward. I apologise for the disappointment and hope this hasn't put you off returning in future. Kind Regards Amy

Visited Chester for a weekend with my daughter. Very clean and comfortable, friendly staff. Left kindle in room and they posted it back to me free of charge. Was only a few minutes drive from Chester Zoo and The city centre. And right next to a train station. Also has a large car park with free parking.

Arrived after a visit to Chester zoo and found the staff to be very helpful and friendly with the room very clean and well organised with all corvid 19 procedures being followed. In the evening had a really enjoyable meal at the adjacent pub/restaurant (The Mill at Upton). Would recommend this hotel highly.

Spent three nights in this very clean, friendly and accommodating Premier Inn. Cheerful Reception staff, free parking on site and Mill at Upton right next door. No breakfast available but breakfast boxes available or Morrisons nearby and a lovely bakers, Chatwins where you can get hot food or rolls for lunch. There is also a Bargain Booze if you want to have a drink in your room. We had our evening meals in The Mill which were very nice and good value. Due to Covid restrictions you need to book ahead as space is needed between each table and it is a popular pub for residents and locals. We walked into Chester itself, approximately half an hour’s walk but there was lots of available parking if you choose to drive. Wouldn’t hesitate to visit again as Chester and the surrounding area is well worth a visit.
