Recorder House is so well located - right on the walls. If you are lucky enough to have a room overlooking the river, you can enjoy the sight of water birds and the murmuring of the water as it passes. Our room was very well appointed, with a full range of toiletries and even two flannels. Breakfast was lovely, with... More

Great location to walk through old city of Chester and along river, quiet, slept with window open, good hot breakfast with varied choices, had ceiling fan, front door steps right onto old city walls, had a small patio area where we ate our take out dinner, accommodating and friendly hosts, parking lot was full but parking in neighbour's lot was... Stayed at The recorder House for 2 nights in May. The highlight is the breakfast which is second to none! We had a room on the first floor at the back of the house. The curtains don't close, due to the being gathered to tightly on the drawstring - no good if you like to sleep in total darkness! This... More

Our flight was over an hour late into Heathrow and we were going to be arriving several hours later than planned. I called and they were so great and reassuring. When we arrived we were given a gorgeous, spotlessly clean room, (double ensuite rear), shown where everything was, then sent of for some whirlwind sightseeing. It was exactly what we... More

Excellent location with superb view of the river from our room. Only stayed the one night unfortunately but would definitely book again. Service good and enjoyed our breakfast. Also, liked the little touch of having access to cold fresh milk and water from fridge outside out room.

My family and I spent a really good time in this B&B. There is a wonderful atmosphere, the rooms are tiny but wonderful. I really loved the breakfast, I had the chance to taste a real British breakfast, and it was so good. It is also located near the centre. But what I liked most was the kindness of the... More

The best thing about owning a bed and breakfast is meeting and chatting with so many interesting people - and it is lovely when this is appreciated as it is in your review. Sorry about the temperature of the bathroom - hope it didn't spoil your visit. More

Just come back from a two night stay, this b&b has a fabulous location in Chester and another added advantage of parking! Our room was comfortable and we slept well only down side was the bathroom was absolutely freezing in temperature not sure as to why but no heat seemed to get into the bathroom at all, that said I... Friendly, charming, central. This is a great base to explore the city. Close enough to be convenient for everywhere, far enough to out the way of city noise. The room was great, the view gorgeous, the shower room modern, the bed comfortable. Breakfast was great, too. Nothing to complain about, just that my stay was too short.

We stayed in room 6 overlooking the weir highly recommended. The hotel is very clean and the owners are friendly and hospitable providing a quality breakfast with locally sourced ingredients. Recorder House is located on the walls so it is ideal for all the attractions including the racecourse and restaurants all walkable once parked you wont need your car!!
