My wife and I visited the Lamb for a quick bite one evening. The menu is very broad and has some really strange combinations. For example a beef rib with pulled pork and a burger with gammon, sausage and pulled pork ??? It wasn't obvious to me how these combinations would work which made me keen to try them. Sadly...

A single night stay in a twin room in the main building , check in was fine , parking is not easy but sorted in the end ,room was tired & not furnished particularly well , cleanliness was OK but the bathroom which had mildew on the tiles so some TLC required here, public areas are fine. Breakfast was good...

We stayed two nights in February. My brother and stepsister stayed for three nights. New rooms were very good. Old supposedly superior rooms were more expensive but but very tired (mildew in bathroom, battered furniture, few sockets) and lower specification. Food fine and staff very helpful. Staff could be needlessly unhelpful at times eg turning off coffee machines before the...

Stayed here late January for a 3 night winter break. The room was OK but would have benefited from a refurbishment as it was a bit tired. It is an old property and the room had only one small window making it quite dark. In the evening the only lighting was 3 bedside size lamps which was not enough to...

Living locally we thought we'd stop here for a nice Sunday dinner! The decor is stylish and layout with multiple rooms creates a cosy feel. The menu has a wide range of dishes from fancy up market to traditional pub food, covering all price points. It was perhaps coincidence on the day we visited, the staff informed us the restaurant...

I visited for business this time. I have been there several times before. Rooms are small but functional. Food is very good. Only issue is parking. There is limited space on site and it's always a struggle but it seems to work. Overall rreasonable value for money

The room was very simple and basic for the price I paid. However, it was clean and comfortable. The room was round the back of the hotel so was very quiet apart from very squeaky floorboards in the corridor and room which can't be helped. Nice selection of tea and coffee in the room as well as free breakfasts and...

Really great location near the cathedral, shops and restaurants. Friendly staff and good breakfast (there's no option to pay less with no breakfast). No lift, but staff helped us carry bags when we asked. Tired decor in the rooms. Tea making facilities none too clean. Staff explained they could only clean two rooms daily...

We were looking forward to a night in what we hoped would be a comfortable town hotel in an historic building. We were very disappointed. The room was shabby: paintwork scuffed and not clean, curtains a throwback to the 80s, bathroom to the sixties. Very poor lighting, and the bed was two singles pushed together with no attempt to disguise...

My husband and I chose the Lion in Ely for lunch as it looked popular and is close to the cathedral. We were both very disappointed with our meals. My husband chose the lamb shank which he said was cold on the inside and so tough it could have been a mutton shank. I chose the beef and ale pie...
