Dirtiest hotel I have ever stayed at! My partner booked this as a surprise for my birthday with both my mum and dad. When booking my partner thought he paid the extra for a deluxe room, called the hotel upon arrival to set up nice bottle of wine and chocolates in the room. Asked to change room due to not being the room he wanted, was told rudely over the phone that there are no other rooms. Once arrival two members of staff at reception then abruptly told my partner he would need to pay for the wine before leaving reception, ruined the surprise as I was standing near him. Once we were shown to our room, the smell from the hallways was enough for me. Smelt like go on off food, and mouldy walls. Couldn’t believe how much mould was on the wallpaper ceilings,And this was before we even got to our room. The room itself facing a busy road, curtains were so dusty me and my partner refuse to even touch them. Once we notice this we ask again due to the cleanliness of the room to be moved. This was before seeing what my parents room was like. The mugs which were left near the kettle were still half full with mouldly tea/coffee, we also unable to use the kettle with the amount of limescale in the bottle. Wiped my face with one of the towels, only to realise on the other side someone had already wiped their face. The mould in the bathroom was disgusting, some of the ceiling specs were hanging down, the shower itself was slimely, and ridden with hair. Felt more dirty staying !!! My parents room was no better, bright red curtains so went the sunshine through they couldn’t get an sleep, no coffeee or tea options near the kettle so this was not stocked up before our arrival, again the mould and dust they came across made us all feel unease. Was so excited to try the restaurant whole reason we booked this awful hotel. To only feel like if this is the standards of their cleanliness in their rooms god forbid having an sort of food and drinks. Went to a lovely pub across the road. Paid extra for breakfast and of course the standards of this hotel were not to be seen. Left before 8am. Even when checking out the staff rudely spoke to my mum and asked why we were leaving she explained she was not happy with the hotel, and we will be getting in contact with the manager for a refund.and then asked which is the best way to make a complaint. The staff members then giggled in my mothers face which is outrageous!! And said no idea call the hotel later I’m sure someone can help you then, and dismissed my mum. Never have I ever stayed at such a disgusting, unsanitary hotel, with staff members unsure on any procedure or even with ZERO customer service skills. Once I managed to find an email for the hotel to raise a complaint, the general manager Mr. G Ruggiero responds was sorry we have a long stay before your arrival! Like that makes it acceptable. Then another response was that it was MY parties fault for not raised the concerns of the room once shown to them, again I explained we did. Waiting a week for a reply, called the hotel to get told he will call me back. Two days later still waiting. The last response I received was a free stay in a better room, and a partially refund. After explaining I will never return to this hotel as I left feeling dirtier, and disappointed. Still waiting on a reply, I stay on 29th of April and it’s now 11th May, great customer service. I would never normally write reviews but I feel the need to warn everyone if you want to spend a lot of money on a old, mouldy. Dirty room with awful staff this is the place for you.

Recently stayed at Hotel Sorrento, all very last minute due to a change of circumstance at our original property. The staff at the hotel were excellent, really friendly & helpful. We called the hotel on Saturday 16th and lucky for us they had a room, We had an 8 month old baby with us, the hotel let us check in early and sorted a travel cot all with no fuss. would 100% recommend this hotel, customer service was spot on Thank guys Dan & Harriet

We had a lovely stay at this hotel. The rooms were clean, staff were very friendly and the breakfast was excellent with lots of choice. We even had a private sauna in our room! It's not right in the centre but within reasonable walking distance and on a bus route.

Absolutely delightful hotel! Fantastic staff - all of them - Ray, Fernando, Maria, Carmen and Mum Columba. Other staff serving breakfast etc were equally brilliant. Very comfortable, and well laid out. Bar and restaurant areas are comfortable and spacious. Good car park also. Room (124) was excellent and the others were fine according to our friends. Breakfast was very good as was the evening meal If I was to find fault it would only be that our room needed hooks to hang coats and towel rails in the bathroom. We were 6 couples and they looked after us all admirably. Would definitely stay there again whenever we are back in Cambridge.

Stayed 2 nights 10 -12 December. Spotless spacious twin room. Expected single beds so lovely surprise to get double beds. Fabulous modern bathroom. Accommodation exceeded my expectations. Staff very friendly and helpful. Full English breakfast cooked exactly as I asked it to be on 2nd morning. Lovely Italian restaurant, food excellent. Would recommend this hotel and would stay here if I visit Cambridge again.

A proper family run hotel that takes pride in its presentation not the corporate gloss that one gets in chain hotels. The staff were freindly and attentive whilst the room was warm and comfortable with a very welcoming bed. Breakfast was very agreeable, the full English of course, plus fresh fruit or continental. The car park is a bonus as street parking is limited during the week. Our previous visits have been to an hotel next to the station but we are now converted and will return. A thoroughly enjoyble stay.

This hotel is a small, unpretentious family managed property, c.one mile south from the city centre, 5 minutes by bus (bus stop is 2 minutes away and buses c.every 15 minutes) from the railway station and 10 minutes driving to the A14/M11. Our deluxe room was compact, comfortable, quiet and overlooked the car park which is to the rear of the property. The Sorrento Restaurant attached to the property delivers simple and good value Italian food including Pizza, Pasta, meats and fish dishes. The staff were friendly and very helpful, but a special mention must go to Bledi and the chef who were very flexible with our selections at dinner. We enjoyed the food and wine so much, we ate there for our 3 nights, so no need to go back to the city centre for overpriced food/drink and extortionate car parking charges, if you could find a space.

Great value hotel within walking distance to centre (20-25 mins) Clean and tidy, rooms slighly dated but they are comfortable and have everything you need in them, TV, Kettle, Mini Fridge etc Lovely breakfast and all round great customer service that you just don't get in the big chain type hotels.
