Checked in here 16th May 2022 for 3 nights , Room 214, Only Fault we can give is the sign advertising the hotels name is pretty small so if your Driving be aware because you'll easy pass it by. Now down to the plus points ,,, Free parking in a decent parking area, very friendly welcome on check in and to be honest all throughout our stay. Rooms are , Clean , Tidy , & our room 214 was particularly spacious and Adequate. In all honesty we've stayed in 5 star accomodations in the past and never had so much hot water on demand , Sounds Mad I agree but this can be a problem in some hotel's, Not with this place though. Bathroom was really roomy , clean , nice clean towels. Room has a kettle and tea , coffee supplied , Iron and Board Supplied too in rooms. Freeview TV supplied with enough channels to browse through. Restaurant had a menu on which changed daily set menu of 3 courses £24.50 I think but you don't have to have all 3 courses so price reduces if you go for less courses of course. We had 2 evening meals in hotel and both were fine and filling. Breakfast which was included was spot on. Unlimited Cereal & Fruit + Juices , Tea , Coffee ECT. And I must say the coffee was a Quality Tasting Coffee so credit there. Quality Sausages, Bacon. Fresh Fried Eggs. But other options for Breakfast were offered you just need to ask. Honestly this place for a 3 star is well worth a stay and in our opinion should be 3star+. Really located near to everything you need to be at. 5 minutes walk from the train station so direct trains to Ely and London regular times. …
Clean, close to station and city center. Wonderful bed and bathroom. Good breakfast and very kind and helpful staff! I only stayed one night but hope te visite the Centennial hotel once more and many see more of Cambridge.
We were looking for a conveniently located and competitively priced hotel close to the centre of Cambridge. An important factor for us was on-site parking. A nice-to-have was Breakfast being included. The Centennial checked all these boxes. It was also close to the Cambridge botanical Gardens, which we wanted to visit. The owners and staff were extremely friendly and helpful. We had a double room on the ground floor which was very nice. The Hotel uses the old-fashioned key “system” which was strange in this day and age but actually quite nice! When you leave the hotel they ask you to hand your key in at reception and then collect it when you return (they operate a 24 hour reception service). The bed was slightly smaller than we expected but this was no big deal. Being so close to the road did cause us some “noise” concern when we were trying to go to sleep but didn’t really bother of us that much (if we were staying longer it might have been more than issue). The Shower/Bathroom was modern and whilst quite small was perfectly adequate. The Room is quite old which earns it a quaint tag and satisfied our needs. The challenge that you find in these circumstances is that there is a lack of wall sockets which, given the day and age we live in, where we have phones and tablets that need to be charged it can be a bit frustrating. Maybe they can look at this in future. There was plenty of cupboard and drawer space which is nice to have. Breakfast was mainly table service and very good. The Service was efficient. For those less “able” the staircase leading to The Breakfast area is quite steep which might be a challenge for some. In summary it’s quite easy to be picky about things but given how close the hotel is to the centre of Cambridge, has on-site car parking and includes breakfast makes it a very attractive option to both casual and business guest. The people who run the hotel seem to genuinely care and this counts for a lot. Should we wish to plan a similar visit to Cambridge we would have no hesitation in looking at this hotel again.…
I stayed for two nights as it was convenient for both my conference and the train station. It was very friendly and warm. The room wasn't huge but it was comfortable and clean. It was nice to have table service for the breakfast rather than a buffet and the staff were very attentive. The stairs are quite steep and narrow and getting up and down with my case wasn't the easiest but overall, a very good stay.
We chose this hotel as it is within reasonable walking distance (0.8m) of my old college, Emmanuel, and has on-site parking, for us a sine qua non in a town where parking can be a living nightmare. Ours was a one-night stay in clean, quiet and well-maintained attic single rooms where the only problem I encountered was the impossibility of a high position for the mixer-tap shower head on account of the slope of the bathroom roof. The vast majority of the rooms here do not, of course, have this particular disadvantage. Breakfast, included in the £95 cost, was truly excellent with everything you expect to find, a choice of hot cooked dishes and, in my case, rapid, efficient waitress service of a piping-hot, freshly-cooked Full English comparable in quality with some I have eaten in 4* and 5* hotels.…
We just stayed one night as part of a longer holiday. The hotel is lovely, clean and comfortable. An easy walk into the town. The car parking sold it for us as we were able to leave the car (until 3pm) after we had checked out . So were able to visit the town and do some sightseeing. Car parking in Cambridge is expensive. Breakfast was good and the staff we came into contact with were very helpful.
What a find, not the cheapest hotel in Cambridge but service and attention to detail unsurpassable. We arrived early leaving the car was not a problem receptionist gave us a map and showed ourselves areas to visit. Booking in was straightforward, reception manned 24hrs so no need to carry your key. Rooms were large and accommodating very clean and tidy with a lovely ensuite shower room. Breakfast was served at a very convenient fine with choice of fruit, cereal or cooked breakfast or all 3 !!! Limitless tea or coffee and juices.evening meals looked good value for money although we did not try one.A nice bar with a congenial barman which we did try. Overall a top notch hotel helping our first time in Cambridge very stress free and enjoyable well done Centennial Hotel.
Attic room was small , but usable for one person. Two people would have been a bit crowded. Room was clean and well maintained, but did smell a bit musty. The location was great. Easy 15-20 minute walk to King's College and the River Cam. Staff was very friendly and quite helpful.
Comfortable well appointed room and ensuite all recently refurbished. Easy flat walk to town centre. Dinning options close by if preferred. Good breakfast and friendly staff. On-site parking if you have a vehicle but close to train station.
Great location, parking available, friendly helpful staff and really well presented hotel, great breakfast cooked to order included. The attic rooms were a bit quirky but overall this is great choice for couples and represents good value for money.
