We had the misfortune of staying at this particular Hilton shortly before Christmas. It looked ideal due to its central location but unfortunately that is where the positives end. With renovation work taking place at home we thought we’d go for a relaxing break, how wrong was we. This hotel classes itself as dog friendly and as a consequence of that we were woken several times during the night due to a dog barking in the neighbouring room. We would have got more sleep and a better lay in had we stayed at home. The best was yet to come though and at check out we were charged for an upgrade that we hadn’t requested and then even better for some gin and tonics that had been charged to our room (we hadn’t even drank in the bar). After what felt like an age the sneaky extra costs were correctly deducted from our bill. One extra thing to look out for when considering booking this hotel is the costly car parking pricing as it significantly adds to the cost of a stay. Now I know Richard says it’s reasonable in all the replies but quite frankly it isn’t and is in fact the most expensive hotel parking that I’ve paid (and I’ve stayed all over the UK). With our relaxing stay completely ruined there is no chance of us ever wanting to return to this hotel and be awoken to the sounds of a distressed dog at all hours again.…
We had a lovely stay at the hotel. Room was lovely and fresh looking, very clean. The hotel looks newly refurbished or it is just keep very well and looks new. Amazing location in central Cambridge, everything is on your doorstep. Check in team were lovely, very informative about the hotel & surrounding areas. Bar area was nice to chill out in. Breakfast buffet was of a very high standards, options are amazing. Staff at breakfast couldn’t do enough for us. Yuka was amazing and she went above and beyond to accommodate our requests. Plenty of staff keeping the area clean and tidy throughout breakfast. Highly recommend this hotel, we will definitely be back soon.
We booked two nights B+B at this hotel during our visit to Cambridge. The hotel is right in the centre of town making it easy to walk to all the visitor locations. We had a large confortable room with a modest bathroom, both fully equipped as you would expect. Staff were helpful and the restaurant was very good. One small comment from my wife was that the food on the breakfast buffet was only slightly warm and was not kept hot enough. This is not a cheap hotel but you are right in the centre of town so did not have to pay to travel in. One tip. Parking is £30 per night. You can stay in the park and ride for 18 hours free of charge or £20 for 48 hours, £30 for 72 hours, so leave the car at the park and ride and travel in by bus.
The stay was great from start to finish, the team reached out prior to my arrival to ensure everything was perfect and the room was even given a complimentary upgrade! The valet service was also ideal and the location is perfectly located for exploring the city. Special mentions to Hannah, Alyx, Bradley and Mark!
This is a great hotel bang in the centre of Cambridge, which makes it within walking distance of all the best sights. It is surrounded by various university faculties and the historic centre is only five minutes away on foot. The staff were excellent, without exception. Very good selection for breakfast. Super comfortable bed and great bathroom with tub and shower. Valet parking for £30 per day, cheaper than the nearby Grand Arcade parking. Very good value for the price
Had an excellent stay at this centrally located hotel. Check in was seamless with friendly and welcoming staff. Rooms were clean and comfortable. Breakfast was excellent with a wide choice available. The hotel is in the perfect location to walk to all the main attractions. Would definitely stay again and highly recommend. Arrived into Cambridge by train, taxi cost £7 to get to the hotel.
We stayed one night to attend a concert. This Hotel was top class from the moment we arrived at the front door where a member of staff directed us to the lift to reception. The reception staff were very professional & friendly. They explained the hotel areas and the rooms we had booked. We had booked two rooms, one of which was an accessible room. This room was exactly as we had hoped. Wet room for shower, lower bed but not so low that you feel your on the floor & enough room to manage to manoeuvre around, in fact all the hotel areas were accessible for those with mobility needs. The whole hotel including the bedrooms, bar areas were all very clean and uncluttered. Lovely complimentary bathroom items. Nice to have bottles of water in the room. We had a meal in the bar as restaurant not open on a Monday! The bar meal menu had good choices for us to select from. The food was excellent, great quality and very well presented. Vegan ice cream was the best I’ve tasted! The staff were attentive to our table and made wonderful cocktails! Room service was excellent with sandwiches & cocktails very tasty & welcome after the concert! Now for breakfast WOW what a choice of varieties of foods on offer! The breakfast restaurant was very busy however you wouldn’t have known it as the staff were so efficient, calm under pressure. No dirty tables, all used crockery/cutlery was cleared & cleaned promptly. The Poached eggs we requested were cooked to perfection, runny yoke with no water around them! A lovely choice fresh fruit salad. The full English buffet was a great start to the day. We were to full to make pancakes or waffles! If I had one very small criticism it would be at the Hot drinks area. Just 2 machines for making Tea/ Coffee/Hot Chocolate Quiet a queue waiting. I was also concerned as I saw young children making themselves Hot drinks without adult supervision! Checkout was easy with invoice explained & staff ordering a taxi for us, The door member of staff helped us into the taxi with our cases. We will definitely be back to experience this excellent hotel again. You may feel it’s expensive however, you will not regret having the full experience of a top quality hotel with very professional and friendly staff in all areas Oh and it’s close to all the great shops for retail therapy as well!…
Lovely weekend spent at The Hilton Cambridge. The staff as always were fantastic and looked after us! Special mention to Larry who went above and beyond to park our car and help with luggage and return our vehicle when we needed it. Would definitely recommend and location is fantastic 😊
We only stayed one night. Excellent location, close to everything and right next to de mall. The room was very clean as was the whole hotel. All the staff were very friendly and helpful. We didn’t eat at the hotel so can’t comment on that. We are very satisfied
Fabulous service. We were made extremely welcome and Hannah on reception was wonderful. She arranged surprise birthday balloons and brownies for my sister's birthday, it was a lovely personal touch. We def be staying there again.
