My hubby and I went on an impromptu visit to Cambridge for no particular reason and chose to stay here. We were unexpectedly upgraded to a balcony room. The most comfortable bed and lovely food in the restaurant. All the staff were great. We really enjoyed our stay. Thank you
Superb customer service and very clean rooms. Very close to the train station and botanical gardens. No parking ,but you can use the NCP Close by . Loved the library area , is great to have a cup of tea and read a book The decor of the whole hotel is beautiful .
Stayed here with my partner 29/04/22, after booking through groupon. 2 minutes walk from Cambridge station, had already checked in online before our arrival. Got room key from reception and informed of a 14:00 late check out plus given 2 vouchers for a couple of free drinks in the bar & breakfast included. One Peroni & a gin later, checked out our room 415, which was modern, spotless and very nice. After an afternoon & evening sampling Cambridge we crashed back at the hotel. The bed was divine and the mattress topper was one of the best we’ve every slept on. So much my partner is now trying to source one after taking a pic of the labels on it! Breakfast was self service and we both had a full English which was very nice. Check out online plus they looked after our bags for the rest of the day while we continued to explore Cambridge. If your looking a reasonable hotel in a great location, you’ve found it. Worth a stay!…
Friendly helpful staff in all departments, great location for railway station and City centre attractions. Room 604 , very high standard of luxury and cleanliness, an amazing balcony view over the city. Will definitely stay on our next visit.
From the moment we arrived we were impressed by the hotel, it was absolutely immaculate, all the staff were really friendly and nothing was too much trouble. Our room was superb, fantastic shower and an extremely comfortable bed. We had a three course meal in the restaurant which was superb. The breakfast was really nice as well. You can get a bus into the city centre for a pound each way, this was a real bonus. We would thoroughly recommend The Clayton hotel.
Clayton Hotel Cambridge is a beautiful hotel (right next to the station if travelling by train) or has a station car park next to the hotel with a 2 minute walk - which is handy with luggage. The rooms are very modern, luxurious & spacious (and also very clean) perfect for a romantic weekend away. Staff are so polite and helpful and we had alot of luggage and the reception team helped with our bags to the rooms. Lovely breakfast and has everything you need, if you want to be healthy or have a little treat with a full English breakfast! Nice relaxing bar area to have a cocktail in before Dinner. Would highly recommend this hotel and go back!
We went to the Clayton Cambridge for the Easter Weekend and had the most amazing time. The whole hotel was amazing but our room was the best bit, it was incredible with beautiful views across Cambridge. All of the staff were really helpful and friendly and breakfast was lovely too. We’ll definitely be returning!
Very close to the train station, ideal to drop off your bags and go to explore Cambridge. Rooms are wonderfully furnished and very clean. The beds are too die for, the best nights sleep in a hotel I have ever had! Breakfast was delicious and plentiful! Would definitely recommend this hotel if you are traveling by train to Cambridge for the weekend.
Hotel clean and comfortable with easy access tho the NCP car park was absolute rip off - had to pay for 2 days and only there for 12 hours. The saving grace was the lovely evening meal served by Vicente who was a real star and credit to the hotel!! Fred Webb
I recently stayed here with my husband and young children for a night and we would definitely recommend it! The room was beautifully styled and had everything we needed for our stay. The master bed was huge and extremely comfortable and the bathroom had a really powerful shower. Everything had been cleaned exceptionally well and was spotless. There was a lovely selection of tea, coffee and biscuits in the room and the AC worked well for us. The staff on the reception desk were very polite and check-in was quick and simple. We had breakfast in the restaurant and thought the selection of food was excellent and replenished frequently. The location of the hotel was perfect - easy to walk into the city centre and great for transport links with it being right next to the station. The station car park next door was very convenient for us to use and there are a few shops next door to the hotel which were ideal for when the kids wanted some snacks! Overall, we would definitely recommend this hotel and would love to return in the future!…
