It is what it is. Right in the city centre, I have used a couple of other hotels in the city centre, and this for me was the best for a quick over night stay. Easy check in, parking at the rear good sized rooms. 5mins walk to Whapping Wharf, my favourite place in Bristol.

Recently stayed here on a business trip. Very good and I cant fault them, the staff were very helpful at check in, we did not need to interact with the staff much as we were out for most of the day. the rooms were very nice and the breakfast was wide ranging and very nice.

First Parking. That costs £17 per 24 hours and with planned city congestion charge will add a substantial amount to the stay here. Obviously parking sold off to dubious operator. You can't access hotel from overflow carpark as door from hotel is fire escape and only opens from inside, quite a walk if you have to carry luggage to main reception. Intercom from fire door to reception not working. Pool was open but not after 1600, you can't access it direct but have to book in at reception. Strange groups working in lounge area, don't know if they were also guests or just keeping warm whilst working at free space. One was eating a take away there. Seating in lounge is cumbersome, uncomfortable and heavy. Rooms Ok, no telephone available to call reception or be called by reception. Mini bar is empty fridge. Safe in wardrobe is Us, no batteries in it. Breakfast was good with reasonable choices, gluten free bread available if asked for. Air conditioning in our room OK but noisy, colleagues room not working, temp around 35 degrees, they couldn't sleep, complained but no action taken. Windows cannot be opened. Hand wash basin in shower room slow to drain away as lever operated plug would not open enough. Staff plentiful and helpful at all times, under employed security guard by main entrance WHY, with manned reception within 4 yards of security? Didn't eat in hotel but reasonable walk, uphill on return, to other good city facilities. 1 choice of free newspaper, The i, available if you were quick enough, not my choice and no others available to read or order. Had one drink in bar £6.00 per pint. In summary Ok for two nights but needs more attention to detail if contemplating longer stay. Car parking charge is expensive and unavoidable, sold off no doubt to raise cash.

Dear Kevin O Thank you for taking the time to leave your feedback. We regularly review our car parking prices to ensure we are competitive within the local market. Our rear car park unfortunately cannot be accessed via the fire escape and guests do have to come around to the front of the building. We operate a Whatsapp system to contact reception which is explained on the card in the bedrooms. This is done so guests do not need to talk in to the receiver of a communal telephone. The refrigerator in the room could be filled with items if requested. The public areas of the hotel are open for use by many different customers and we welcome them. I was disappointed the safe wasnt working and apologise for this. Thank you again for taking the time to leave your feedback. regards Chris

An average hotel let down by noise and cleanliness. Staff were great and very friendly and the breakfast buffet was fabulous. Huge noise from kids running up and down the corridors at 10.30 and the slamming of doors is the loudest I’ve ever experienced. Fine if your not tired and fancy a good sleep but no good otherwise. Also, not particularly clean in the corridors which also seem to double up as a rubbish storage area. Overall could do a lot better especially encouraging guests to be quiet as the evening draws in
