We had a large double, it was large and the bed was big and comfy. Room was clean, shower was powerful and water was hot. Parking was available. Happy with the location, walked to the zoo; the bridge and plenty of restaurants; pubs/bars and shops around. We were pleased it was a fresh cooked breakfast, but less pleased we had to decide what we wanted and arrange the time before arrival. Check in was friendly and knowledgeable and breakfast welcoming and efficient, although why can't we be asked about sauces we want before the food is served ? The room was blandly decorated (rubbish paint application), the TV was far too small, the curtains were thin and didn't block the light (in an east facing room that's pants), hanging space was open, rather than a proper wardrobe. We would expect a TV that was visible from the bed and black-out curtains at this level of hotel.…
Always stay here when working nearby. Friendly, clean, comfy. Been in a good few rooms and none really disappoint. Great position in Clifton too. Would recommend to anyone, they take dogs also if that’s your thing. Don’t know why I’m being forced to write more by this silly app tho! 🧐
I booked this hotel as it was close to where i needed to be, I am so glad i did. The hotel itself is clean and comfortable, car parking could be an issue but OK during my Easter visit (its chargeable) my room (a single) was compact but perfectly serviceable for a singleton and only overnight stay, Bathroom and shower clean with nice towels, tea and coffee provided, TV and a single bed which was comfortable with decent sheets. If you are a light sleeper you may hear noise from the road below as the windows are single glazed as you would expect from a character property. I will 100% stay again maybe next time i will look at a double. Word of note the stairs to the second floor are steep so bear this in mind if booking for the less mobile.
This hotel experience was saved by the friendly, professional staff who could not do more to make us feel. The location was perfect for visiting Clifton and the city with excellent carpark it. The hotel decor was sparse and uncoordinated but clean. Breakfast wasn’t generous and varied in quality on the two days we were there from ok to good. Bar small and uninspiring. Not enough room for hotel guests. This hotel felt more like a B&B.
The room was clean and comfortable and friendly staff and a great location. The room is abit dated and could be made more homely like with pictures on walls as it’s very bland, and not much on tray, a bottle of water would have been nice and not really any toiletries just body wash and hand wash.
The room I was in was in the next door building. It was very dated. It was on the ground floor so could hear the people in the room above walking about on the creaking floor boards. The room was really cold. It’s really big with only one radiator. It went off in the night so I was unable to sleep, it was freezing. It was turned on in the morning but when it’s -1 outside the room needs to be heated. There was no heat in the bathroom as the towel rail didn’t work. There was no net curtain in room 230. There is a nice big bay window but no privacy unless you close the curtains and it’s not very pleasant sitting in the dark. The breakfast was good and the couple of staff I met were nice. The hotel is in walking distance to the suspension bridge and Clifton village.
Twin room was clean, with comfortable beds and large bathroom. We asked for a quiet twin room which is what we got. The room overlooked the car park but that had no impact on our stay. Check in (@ 6.00 pm) was straight forward and check out simple. We didn’t manage breakfast so cannot comment on that. The hotel is in a lovely square in Clifton which has interesting pubs, bars and restaurants and is much more characterful than central Bristol. We would both stay in this hotel when we are next in Bristol.
Nice hotel in great location but I stayed on the second floor and had a terrible night's sleep due to a loud, constant noise that sounded like a pipe or heating. The reception desk was closed in the morning so I was unable to report the problem. I have subsequently emailed the hotel but have had no response.
When we arrived we were told off about having the dog even though we had informed booking.com. Had to wait to check if they would let us stay. We only booked this as it said accepted dogs on booking.com. Felt like we were pushed into the basement room. Didn’t seem very clean. Hot tap was cold and cold was hot. Horrid bedding. No phone also to contact reception which they left the numbers for. And dirty toliet. Not a 10/10 compared to nice pics we saw. Basic. Pictures look better. Right outside rentokil point too. …. Nice 🤦♀️
Wife and I stayed three nights in one of the large double rooms. Decor a bit tired but frankly didn't matter. Room was huge, clean and bed very comfy. Nice outlook from large bay window. Location is excellent right in Clifton. Were able to park at the rear of hotel. One of the best value hotel's we've stayed at in the UK in a long while. 100% recommend.
