We have stayed in the hotel several times and can thoroughly recommend it particularly close to University Wills Hall and visiting offspring. The breakfasts are very good in nice surroundings all the papers available to read and the staff are excellent. The accommodation is boutique feel with Scandinavian influence. We've tried other hotels in the city but this one keep...

We recently stayed here for 1 night to attend a funeral in Bristol. We had Room 4, on the first floor, which had a shower room, no bath. We'd chosen Number 38 as we thought it would be a different experience to the standard hotel. We've stayed in many boutique hotels/B&Bs before and we had very high expectations of Number...

Spent Christmas Eve at this hotel en route to family for Christmas Day. The room was extremely comfortably and looked out over The Downs. There is a nice lounge which is available to guests until 8 p.m. and we were offered free port and mince pies - a nice touch. Breakfast was fabulous - loads of fresh fruit, yoghurt, cereals,...

Number Thirty Eight proved to be a great (and quiet) place to stay. The west loft suite is not as big as suites in other hotels but it's so unique with his dark but pleasurable palette, a huge bed and completely equipped with everything you need. We have been welcomed with free mince pies and port wine in a relaxing...

My second time staying here and it is just such a treat. Even though I'm here on business it's like a mini spa break or something. When I called to ask could I check in early the male receptionist said of course-if my room was not ready I could sit in the lounge and enjoy complimentary tea/coffee while they readied...

We loved this guesthouse. One of the best places we have ever stayed. We had the luxury double room with the most enormous bathroom ever and a gorgeous comfy bed and dressing gowns and just everything to make it a cosy, gorgeous experience. We didn't want to leave the room to go out and eat!

My husband and I booked two nights in the west loft following our wedding. Our stay was absolutely flawless, from the dreamy buttery soft bed, the beautiful views to the amazing breakfast. The mini bar was excellent, the staff were gracious and helpful. This was such a luxury treat for us and was the perfect choice for us for this...

My wife and I spent a Sunday night at Number38 and loved it. The hotel is well located near the culinary centre of Bristol, is extremely well appointed, has very professional and friendly staff and they serve great breakfasts. All in all a great place to stay. The hotel is located on the side of a hill and so has...
