Standard is very high as usual, we were particularly impressed with the breakfast staff who were all very happy to help. The road noise at night can be quite bad but that's to be expected in the centre of Bristol
A pleasant hotel with very friendly staff, good restaurant bar area and a reasonably convenient location, although not at the heart of things.
Plus points for bar and restaurant, and the pool area was good if a little cool. Gym is excellent. Lifts were slow......More

Theoretically, one can walk from the station to the hotel. We have done it before. But there is a lot of building work going on and roads and roundabouts being updated. This seems to go on forever. We took a taxi this last time and were glad that we did. It was much easier, and not far. It's easy to get to Cardiff. We have never been there, so can't recommend, but people do like it.
At the hotel, ask for a room as high as possible. That'll get you further away from the traffic. The views from higher floors across the park and the city are great - but you need to ask for a room at the front for this.
From the park there is a ferry stop at the river. It's a great way to get down to the city centre and to see the SS Great Britain. If you google Bristol Ferry Boats you can download timetables - this is really worth doing.
Have a great holiday. Brian
