We had a one night stay following a works meeting, the meeting room was great size tastefully decorated just what was required for a meeting of 12 people. The lunch was ok but could be improved, the salad was fresh although dull lettuce tom and cucumber was your lot, the sandwiches were dried out and tasteless and frozen cooked chips...

It's Clifton, it's Victorian and Georgian, its cobbles, character and suspension. And, then there's the Avon Gorge Hotel, great location, great presence, very comfortable hotel. The hotel has great pub with an amazing veranda with views of Clifton Suspension Bridge.

We chose this hotel for its location and on that it delivered. Perfect site overlooking the bridge and river gorge, and 2 blocks from downtown Clifton Village with its many interesting shops and restaurants. The staff were very accommodating and pleasant. Parking has been mentioned as a negative but we were able to find spots all 3 days we were...

We stayed in December whilst attending a wedding and must say what a lovely hotel this is. Room was lovely and clean, just the right size. Breakfast was delicious with so much to choose from. Would love to stay here again.

I wanted to book into this iconic hotel as I used to frequent the terrace bar in my youth and was attracted to its location and offer of parking. The place has been sympathetically modernised keeping some of its traditional features. The staff were polite and courteous and our room was large and clean with an attractive bathroom and views...

We stay here often when visiting my Son and Sophie on reception is beyond helpful for anything we may need - she is a real asset to the hotel and I hope she is appreciated. We had a newly refurbished room .... wow..... it was amazing - a huge bed, probably the most comfortable we have ever slept in and...

I'm writing on behalf of family who stayed here for the 3rd Christmas in a row while celebrating the holiday at home with me as I live in Clifton Village. The hotel is currently being transitioned to a Hotel du Vin property which is exciting. We took 2 rooms this year, one was a new HdeV style room and the...

The hotels location whilst outstanding will not continue to draw people in. We've just had quite possibly the worst roast dinner outside of a microwave meal. Outrageous as this is the worst part is this is Christmas Day. It's beggars belief you could allow food to go out the kitchen like that. We were told we were the only people...

From initial impressions this looks a lovely place to stay with great views of the gorge and suspension bridge. We booked one night away after a busy lead up to Christmas as a treat but I am sad to say I would have had a better night's sleep at home. The mattress just collapsed as you sat on it and...
