We stopped here for one night in our motorhome at the back of the pub. The site is clean and quiet. There is a large car park, children's play area and out side sitting/dining area. The staff are very friendly and helpful. There is a good selection of beer and food. The pub is close to a 'Peak' shopping area...

My wife and I selected the Grouse and Claret for our second night away, on arriving from the outside it looked great, but on going in we approached a member of staff in the restaurant to ask how we book in, there were no signs to direct us, the lady pointed to the end of the bar, there was a...

it must have been a bad night for the kitchen staff, half eaten plates of food were left on the tables by diners, service was slow, 15 mins for drinks. the food when it came was uninspiring, the fries? were cold and there was more batter than fish on my dish. when told, the staff said they would tell the...

Stayed two nights and must say lives up to the 4* rating. The room was spacious with huge bathroom with shower and nicely furnished. Breakfasts were fine with good choice. Had two evening meals reasonably priced and well cooked with a quite extensive menu. Ideally located on the A6 4 miles from Matlock convenient for most of the attractions in...

Me dog loves it here! We live local and have eaten here a few times, usually very good. Marston chain pub but freshly prepared food , (I saw the boxes in the bin). Service good , staff are local.£30 for 2 people with drinks, not cheap but good value for money. Sit out back on a sunny day, can't go...

We booked this very last minute. It was ideally situated between Matlock and Bakewell but really very good for the whole Peak District. The room was a family room which was a double bed and a sofa bed which was just a bit bigger than a single bed. It was at the front of the property and we had the...

I have a mixed opinion about this pub, stayed here last weekend to visit Chatsworth House. Really good location for exploring Derbyshire. We had a lovely room, everything we needed and a good size, situated at the back of the pub overlooking the garden. Left our window open whilst we slept and no noise from the pub visitors just an...

Not many options to eat in Rowsley and this is probably the best one. Nicely decorated Pub with a varied menu, from fish & chips to roast chicken. Good offers on certain days of the week. Steak for two and a bottle of wine, for £ 20 on Thursday .It has a very Nice atmosphere. Great service.
