Excellent location and allocated parking close by. Host is very welcoming and and the welcome brief was informative and I was left with no questions. Room size was adequate for me and had everything I needed for my stay. The bed was top notch and I had a great nights sleep. Breakfast is cooked to order, there are a really good range of options and is cooked really well. The host has clearly been doing this for a while and it shows in her welcoming attitude. This is a return visit for me if I am in the area.
The Old Station House B&B at Rowsley was very convenient for visiting Haddon and Chatsworth estates and for cycling the Monsal Trail and Tissington Trail. The were two pubs nearby for eating or having a drink. Free parking was available. The property is very near to the road. Vicky Friend gave us a warm welcome and was most hospitable. The bedroom was very small and compact but lacked nothing and the premises were very clean and attractive. The breakfast was beautifully cooked and there was a wide choice.
Stayed here for 2 nights as attending a wedding at new year in Sheffield followed by reception at East Lodge Hotel, owner Victoria, made us feel very welcome. Excellent stay, room quite small but warm and cosy, was perfectly adequate with tea and coffee, room for clothes and a small but good ensuite with all that we needed. Excellent breakfast at a time that suited us, nothing was too much trouble. Will certainly recommend to friends
We celebrated our friend’s birthday in a local pub and stayed at the Old Station House for 2 nights. It is very well located, just down the road from Chatsworth, and the GPS takes you straight to the parking area very near the house. The house itself was built by Paxton! Breakfast is superb and vicky and maureen are lovely and welcoming. The place has a really lovely feel to it and you can truly escape from the ‘Big city’ there. The surrounding area is some of the most beautiful countryside in the UK. Also highly recommend are all the cosy pubs nearby. Ask the owners for details (also for info on best walks in the area). We will be back for the Haddon Hall Christmas Fair!
We stayed here recently, it was very dissapointing, the room was small, the decor was tired and dated, we had to climb over a stenna stair lift every morning at the bottom of the narrow staircase. Initially the hostess was quite abrupt on our arrival but seemed more friendly after day 2. We stayed for 4 nights, we would not book again.
